I hate all these mascaras that can make your lashes this long or this much fuller..or less clumps..come on, mascara is just mascara..it doesnt do anything..i dont care how much it is or what brand it is..thet all are the same...A dollar worth of mascara could work better than these 8 buck "fancy" ones...

dove ads are hardly "real" the bottom line is still profit and they aren't making women feel "better" about their bodies...they are saying "you have cellulite...well, we have a firming cream, and you should use it" OR "you are aging and your hair is getting thin...no problem, use our pro-age dove shampoo..."

people THINK the ads are empowering and "real" but they are just the same old stuff repackaged. We know there is airbrushing, we dont need a 60 second long commercial to tell us that...and on top of that they are trying to say ...look at all of the airbrushing out there...now use our products to look better. Please, its all bunch of advertising crap, they just put a new spin on it.

id rather see hot models and actresses promoting makeup than ordinary women any day, at the end of the day, both companies have the same goals and id rather see a pretty face than an average woman.

The fact that it's sold as mascara is misleading.
To tell you the truth, I think the secret to good mascara is in the brush. The more bristles it has the better. I've been using one by Neutrogena and it does a way better job of not leaving clumps.

And oddly enough, I've heard many times that makeup artists swear by the simplest, cheapest of mascara: a pink and green tube of Maybelline.

Agreed - I like L'Oreal Voluminous and Max Factor 2000 calorie because they have those big teddy bear brushes with lots of bristles.

I don't know if you've ever tried Maybelline Crap Lash, but save your money unless you're part of the 1% of women in the world that can make it work. Seriously, I have no idea how it gets on so many favorite lists, because it's all but impossible to make work with that small, sparse brush and super smudge formula.

I think makeup artists that swear by it must be going by consistency alone and must use lots of other additional brushes to separate each coat they apply. You're right, the brush is super sparse and tends to make my lashes clump together, gives me that tarantula look. I always have to use an eyebrow brush to separate when I use it, but for some reason, I still keep it.

And btw, back on topic, this is the advert they use of Penelope Cruz. She has like 5 lbs. of fake 1-inch lashes on!!!! "A couple of single falsies," my ass!!

I have to totally agree Laurent, it's all in the brush. The L'Oreal Voluminous is my favorite.

I've tried lots of mascaras and the only one that works well for me is Daring Definition mousse mascara by Avon. (Salma Hayek promotes it in their ads.) I never have a problem with it clumping, flaking, or smudging. It's also the only one I've found that does not irritate my eyes.

It helps to hold the wand vertically when applying mascara.

i tried that pink and green mascara. it SUCKED so BAD.

i bought a bunch that said this and that and they were all the same.

the best freaking mascara i ever got was a freebie from a clinique gift thingie.

Clinique High Impact Mascara.

that stuff is the BEST i've ever used in my whole whatever years of wearing mascara. it actually makes my lashes gorgeous.

i swear by clinique naturally glossy mascara and diorshow. fluffy brushes, no clumps, great consistency.
that maybelline one in the pink and green tube is crap. i think maybelline pays make-up artists to say they use it or something.

i hate dove ads because they just come across as cynical and condescending. plus, i hate feel-good crap in general.

Maybelline pink and green is the best imo. I can't use anything else. It can be clumpy, but I use a toothbrush after applying. That's stuff satys on and lasts all day. Getting it off it tough though.
