^I dont know, my parents said River Phoenix's drug overdose had quite the impact, I just figured a death would certainly make drugs seem less glamorous. What really needs to happen is Lindsay needs rehab pronto.

It's legal if you have a prescription for it and if you use it as directed. It's actually a hot item on the street. People get top dollar for it. Back when I was in school, guys on the street were getting about $35/pill.

I think the chliché of young, beautiful, promising star who dies from an overdose only adds to the glamorous image of drugs. As a teen I could not get enough of the Janis Joplin and Jim Morrisson legends.
You know what would really have an impact? If she gained fifty pounds from the bloating or lost all her beauty overnight. That would be shocking to the hipsters.
That's like the warnings on the cigarette packs: "Cigarettes cause cancer" doesn't shock anyone, but "cigarrettes let your skin age"? The horror!

Exactly Chilly Willy, people aren't afraid of death, they are terrified of ugly. Odd, I was talking about poverty versus ugly and people would rather be poor than ugly. One more reason PS is so popular and society is obsessed with it.....

^^I agree, and i've actually thought the same thing. I really think it will take one of these hard-partying "Young Hollywood" stars dying, to bring attention to how bad these drugs are. I'd bet my bottom dollar that Lindsay is NOT the only celebrity engaging in this kind of hardcore drug use. I'd bet at least half, if not way more, of the "Young Hollywood" crowd are into coke, and/or painkillers. There needs to be a major wake-up call. I have a feeling that drug use in Hollywood is as bad as it's ever been, but yet, it's been a LONG time since anybody really famous in Hollywood died from drug use. (At least i can't think of any recent deaths at the moment.) These superficial actresses & "celebutantes" just live this carefree, drug-filled, fun life with no apparent bad consequences....Like you said, it's time for something to happen to make them wake up!!
Then again, what Chilly Willy says is true too:

What you say is unfortunately true, CW. I too remember being fascinated by Joplin and, especially, Morrison over their drug deaths when they were young. The movie "The Doors" came out when i was like 13 and my best friend & i thought Morrison was the coolest person ever, and we wanted to be just like him! ( ) It's unfortunate that despite being deadly, drugs hold such a mystique....as does "dying young & leaving a beautiful corpse" & being remembered forever on as beautiful, forever young, but tragic. (i.e., River Phoenix, Marilyn Monroe, Jim Morrison...)
In any event, i really hope Lindsay gets some major HELP. I've been thru my own drug struggles, and it is HELL. I hope she finds the strength to clean up. But if she doesn't, and she just continues to throw her life away, then i hope her (inevitable) death will have some sort of positive impact, like StayYoung&Pretty talked about.

A lot of people crush and snort OC. Maybe that's why she mixes her coke with strawberry Nesquik, to make it pink. This way she doesn't get her powders mixed up.

I think alot of these young stars are too young to cope with the pressures of fame, which is why they turn to drugs and alcohol to handle it, and they get messed up, sadly. But on the other hand, they love the attention so I cant feel too sorry for them. Lindsay could have just been an actress and not have to go out and party every night but of course not.
Young Hollywood was never really like this before; i think of people like Julia Stiles, Kirsten Dunst, Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Hartnett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, etc who never had these kind of stories written about them, because they never seemed to seek the attention. Young Hollywood has just gotten alot worse. Today's young stars are a disgrace.

It'll get worse as her liver gives up the ghost. She'll look knocked up but not as healthy as the average pregnant crackhead.
Around here we call Oxy "hillbilly heroin" and it's a hotly sought after item at the clinic I work at. You should hear all the crazy excuses people give in order to get a prescription.

You can crush and shoot Oxy, too. Has anyone ever noticed any tracks on her? Of course, if she did have tracks, it could be from any number of things - meth, smack, etc.
Also, she could be shooting between her toes, into her vaginal lips, etc, to avoid visible tracks, so a lack of track marks doesn't necessarily mean she's not shooting.
So, having said all that and contradicting myself, never mind!

Lohan is a total mess.
If I was her agent, I would definitely ask the family to sign her in a mental ward.
Who gives this mess roles anyway?? She isn't and never be Monroe, or Hepburn or such .
No talent, loads of issues, very sick mentally and phisycally......HW has created a new monster.

I am not a fan of her's, but I still feel extremely sad if this story is true. I have personally seen the effects of Oxy and it is not pretty. Until she admits she has a problem, then there is nothing that anyone can do.
I would hate to see her self destruct from such a horrible drug.

So true. As a matter of fact there's a recent thread around here about her possibly being a "cutter". Maybe the supposed cuts that are bandaged are really track marks?
