Honestly I've known some non celebs to do some worse things and not do jail time, so to say that us regular people would be sitting in jail right now isn't necessarily true, at least in Massachusetts.

Agreed. I know of alot of people who have done far worse than drive drunk and they're walking the streets.

And please, no compassion for young people who make mistakes!

As I have said before, a drunk driver killed my grandmother and put my mother in a wheelchair for over six months. It happened right before my eyes, my 18 months old nephew had to witness it. I had to scrub my grandmother's blood of the sidewalk in front of our house. It was the most horrifying experience of my life. The boy was 18 and it broke my heart. I tried to comfort him, which was useless. He killed himself a year after the accident. I tried to talk him out of it, but he thought he deserved death.

Lindsay touches me in the same way. Does she make mistakes? Of course! But she is going through a very bad time. She has no guidance, no friends, no parenty who help her. Everyone has always been after her fame and money.

Self-righteousness is poisonous. People who pretend that they never made a mistake, never went through rough, confused times make no sense to me.

I like her for some inexplicable reason as well - which is why I would like to see her do time. I honestly would love to see her get her life and career back on track, but what impetus has she to do that at this point? A month of jail time wouldn't kill her, and might just be the wakeup call she needs. I agree she could benefit from therapy, and a second chance in the industry, but being appropriately punished - or at least tried - for her offences would be the right thing, in my opinion.

I would if you were caught twice before, coked up and drunk off your shit while bhind the wheel, having crashed both times

I also knew one girl she was 21 and drunk drove and killed a man. She actually did do time..guess how much....

1 year. Actually I think her sentance was one year and she served 9 months. She isn't rich and she's not a celeb.

Chilly, that is such a sad story. You are a big person to be able to comfort him in your family's time of grief. It's nice to know that some people can be like that.
