ok, yes, but those people are JUST LIKE LEO - rich ass folks who are, as Hall n Oates would say, "Out of touch, and out of time!"
Amazing how I am living a decent life, can recognize and be moved by the human condition in all its levels...but I'm not going to PATRONIZE the very people that support me. Without fans, he IS NOTHING. before you shoot off at the mouth, Leo, think on that.
then, join the damn peace corps with your millions, Mr. Titanic, and help these people. Teach them about safe sex and how to talk to your partner. Teach them how to get water over to their villages, and how to throw over govt' that allow blood diamonds.
I mean, I won't wear real jewlery because I don't want to support blood diamond (looking at you, DeBeers). Try not to wear clothing made in sweatshops (so yes, American Apparel all the way). It's not much, but I'm sure everyone one of us have an understanding about life out of the US and try to do something about it in our own way...Sorry, ohmygoodness, I understand your point and I agree with it wholeheartedly. If you were saying that to me, I would back you up. But an overpaid man slut who's busted, often miscast as a lead man (sorry, I still think of his as a boy) is gonna tell me I shouldn't complain?!
FUCK YOU! I was jumping for joy when the Duvalier regime was overthrown...and I was 8. Because I had parents who brought the realities outside of America home to me. Like most of you did. Did Leo JUST wake up and smell the Cafe Bustelo on this?!
I don't know why his statements are annoying me...perhaps because he's gonna make gazillions on this film and totally forget what he said and saw after he gets nominated for an award, or worse....he'll give some impassioned speech about Africa...BLECH!

I think celebrities are such meglomaniacs that they go to these places and see for the first time how a lot of people live and assume that everyone was just as clueless and self involved as they were. Then, they imagine themselves as some type of crusader or saint fighting for these people, and by "fighting for these people" I mean "being worshipped by these people." It reinforces their meglomania as well their misguided notions of their own importance and potency. How they can preach this stuff and spend time with people who have so little, and yet still spend tens of millions of dollars on homes, cars, and private planes, is pretty perplexing to me.

Amen. And that goes for all Angelinas, Madonnas, Brad Pitts, and every other fucktard who thinks that they alone see the misery in the world and they alone are doing something against it.

Very well put.
Another thing I'd like to add is that everybody has the right to give their own amount of importance to real problems, rich or poor, and no matter where they live. That's an extremely personal issue, and Leeew DiCaprio is the last person in the world to be attributing weight to one or another's problems. So, he had 6 months "contact" with Mozambique... big FUCKING deal! Welcome to mother Earth and real life, Leo (even though I'm pretty sure that all the misery's *thank God* over with and forgotten by now and you're back to fucking playwhores at viagra-sustained-corpse's mansion... no wonder you don't whine).

When he actually contributes and does something meaningful towards his pet causes instead of spouting off at the mouth, then we can talk.

omg you're a poet. truly; i've tried to put that into words before about how fucked up celebrities are and why they shouldnt breed or run for political office b/c of their extreme sociopathic narcissism but you've said it very good here! Bravo!

Yes, well, that's the difference between a place like America and a place like Mozambique. In America, living it up means fucking women by the monkey cages, but in Mozambique, it means fucking monkeys by the women cages.

Leo should consider a permanent move.

Somerset, well put, and congratulations on 1000+ posts! I have enjoyed them - especially the ones exposing Natalie Portman for the fraud that she is.
