What sickos would let 5 mil buy them out of their child and grandchild's lives?

What about Katie? Would you take 15 million to have your life and reputation completely trashed?

Yep, I'm with you. We're not talking about an isolated teenager here. She is an adult who had been in the cutthroat competitive world of show business for years. When she pulls her head out of her ass, she's got some big-time 'splainin' to do. And apologies to her parents.

I try time and time again to give Tom and Katie the benefit of the doubt but something about this relationship from the get go is just not right. Cant put my finger on it but there is something not right.

Well, you have to admit, her career wasnt much to talk about. SHe would have never seen 15 million otherwise, nor her parents 5 million.

I doubt the money thing. Her parents seem to be well off on their own. I doubt they'd be willing to go along with selling their daughter's soul for cash.

Bella, I agree with you. KH's father and brother are attorneys in the same Ohio practice. Think that they were given access after they went to the press.

Also can't imagine somebody profiting at the expense of a child.

Well, of course I am only guessing. No one but the 2 of them know the entire true story.

But you have to admit, the entire situation is TOO ODD, and by the looks of it... Katie is going to be profitting at the expense of her baby/child, so I can easily see how her parents would profit off of Katie, who is a grown woman.

I do think Katie was pregnant, but I tell you what. My daughter has a baby and I AM THERE. I also think TC is a controlling freak.

I am pretty sure that Martin and Kathy Holmes are not voluntarily going along with this. I know for a fact that they are very upset about what's happening with Katie and I can't imagine them signing her over to the cult for any amount of money- which they don't need. I think they're being cut out of Katie's life because they not only don't share, but also openly disapprove of, Tom and Katie's Scientology beliefs and at this point they'll take whatever contact they can get from her, even if it means not seeing the baby until 2 1/2 weeks after it's born. I think Tom sort of punishes them... like, "If you speak out about our religion again, we won't allow you to see this grandchild." And Katie probably raises a microphone to her throat and in a computerized robot voice says something like "Mibs. Xeeeenu. Praise. LRon."

Southernbelle... you know for a fact they are very upset about what's happening? How's that?

I would think the only way I would believe that is if they said so in interview, or told me themselves...

I have an aunt and uncle who have been long-time members of Christ the King Catholic Church with the Holmes family and are friends with Martin and Kathy. They haven't given us any specifics, but did say that Martin and Kathy are heartbroken.

Believers need to be insulated from non-believing family.

"*** BEGIN FAIR USE EXTRACT ***

(from _Child Dianetics_ by L. Ron Hubbard, page 48)

Perhaps the most insidious thing that can happen to the child is
the exterior ally. Until you have processed a number of of people
you may not realize how deadly is the ally in the sympathy engram.
Grandparents should not be permitted into the home of their grand-
children until they have learned to behave themselves dianetically.
One can have all the mawkish sentimentality in the world and think,
"My dear, dear grandparents"--but wait until you get back there in
the reactive bank and find out what they did. They were very nice,
true, but all too often they bought the child off and broke the
affinity line between the parents and the child.

*** END FAIR USE EXTRACT ***

In real life, many Scientologist family units simply "disconnect" from
their relatives in order to "protect themselves" from the entheta
of non-Scientologist relatives. As the family unit moves deeper and
deeper into the arms of the cult they are apparently warned away from
those outside of the cult, eventually leading to disconnection. This
has also been known to happen *within* family units when a member
begins to stray from the cult.

*** BEGIN FAIR USE EXTRACT ***

(from _Child Dianetics_ by L. Ron Hubbard, pages 48-49)

An ally blurting out to a feverish child, "My dear, I'm going to stay
here until you are well," becomes a leech upon that child's mind.
Consider what happens when a child gets very ill and grandma rants,
"Do you think he will die? Oh, my dear, darling little baby, you are
going to die. I know you are going to die. Please don't leave me!"
Later on in life the child slides into grandma's valence, and a
period of illness which originally ran about five days is keyed in
and keeps the child sick for months!

*** END FAIR USE EXTRACT ***

In the above passage, L. Ron seems to reinforce the dangerousness
of the non-Scientologist family to the "Dianetic" family. This
may lead to the family's disconnection from relatives in the
future."

Oh my!! Now THIS is interesting.

So they are telling those around them how they are feeling about this. Do they talk about Tom? Do they say anything about Katie just turning her back on them and their religion?
