Since we have no idea really what happened to this marriage we can't lay blame with any of them.
Some people do agree to an open relationship, and no, they don't consider it cheating. Does the rest of society? Usually, but that is really no one's business but that couple-
I don't think because a person realizes that a marriage isn't working makes them a bad parent-mother or father. Is it right/moral to cheat on your spouse? IMO, no, but again, that doesn't make you a bad parent. A bad spouse, maybe...

Wow - I have been too effing busy to dick with my computer (for entertainment purposes) and I come back to find this thread. God, it's like I was here yesterday. For some reason the comments by nitelife (I think) remind me of that guy from My Big Fat Greek Wedding - when he would take words and tell how any and pretty much all words originated from a Greek word. Except that with this poster, it's always about Brad and Angelina... so sad.
