I always felt bad for Julian.
Was it Lennon that abandoned him or was it at Yoko's insistence? I do feel bad for him.
I always felt bad for Julian.
Paul McCartney felt bad for the little fella, that's why he wrote "Hey Jude".
One of the very few Beatles songs I like actually.
Julian could have turned out a lot worse.
And he could have hated his little brother, but he doesn't.
Yes, Lennon ditched his wife and his little son so he could mount the Thing They Call Yoko.
Bastard.
She also revealed how Lennon's insistence on going to see his son might have cost him his life. In the moments before Lennon was gunned down by a crazed fan outside their New York apartment on December 8, 1980, she had suggested going for a meal - but Lennon was adamant he wanted to go home and see his child.
Way to make a kid feel wanted and guilty all at the same time. I also never got the fact that they had oodles and oodles of money and never set Julian up for life. That spoiled and useless boy gets everything.![]()
Into the sunrise. The sunset is sad to me….it only means the night is coming.
I don't understand it either. Julian is the talented of the two.I also never got the fact that they had oodles and oodles of money and never set Julian up for life. That spoiled and useless boy gets everything.![]()
Seems like both Paul and George were very kind to Julian.

Yoko Ono has always come across as a cold hearted bitch to me.
I really will never understand what John Lennon saw in her.
I think he was mostly attracted to her arty bohemian lifestyle (that she's kept up all this time). I think for all their professing of self love that John really hated himself and so disliked or didn't care for the son that was his mirror image Julian.
Yoko has made a place herself in pop culture which is why I have her as my ID and avatar. She's a woman you either admire or dislike intensely. She's controversial even at 78.
I would do Julian. I think he is still hot. Was that way OT? LOL.

No, it's not just you.

She and John did heroin, they posed naked for an album cover and she publicly admits to being willing to get an abortion if John would've told her to? Boy, and we thought Britney was a bad mother. What great parents these two were...they must've hated it when the 960's and 1970's were over.
These celebrities are amazing.
Yoko's an odd chick, but I kinda like her. I think she is simply very awkward with people; she doesn't know how to ingratiate herself. And, she is certainly rather narcissistic. But so was John. Anyway, somehow I have never felt her to be any more of an asshole than he was. After all...as we say about other folks in other threads, he was an ADULT. HE made the decision to treat Julian like shit. Not Yoko or anybody else.
I love John Lennon, I just adore the fucker to this day...but I have to admit that part of why, in some strange way I don't really understand, is that he was such a bastard.
Julian and Sean are both darling guys. I wish 'em both nothing but the best. I hear they get along with each other and I hope that's true.
I don't have a problem, but I'm probably in the not so common position of having had a similar conversation with my mother at one stage. It was really liberating (in a very strange sort of way) to talk so honestly about things - how she really thought hard about it, because my father was such a loser and a clear bad influence.
At the end of the day, I'm still here - that's all that matters in the end.
However... Ma didn't shout it out to the world's press. I hope Sean has had this conversation before, otherwise that's a nasty shock!
I've never understood the hatred of Yoko Ono. Mum is a huge Beatles/Lennon fan, and quite vitrolic towards Ono. I don't have a problem with her - she's a bit odd, but so what? Maybe it's one of those generational things, you just had to be there to understand it. Objectively there is no reason for everyone to dislike her. Yet subjectively, at the time, she "broke up the Beatles", "took" John away from Cynthia.... in short, her presence brought some harsh light of reality shining in the deep dark nooks and crannies of the illusion of perfection around John's life. He was a great man, but certainly not a perfect one.
I don't know for certain, but I think Lennon was just a tool as far as Julian and Cynthia were concerned. It was your classic 1950/60s marriage because she was pregnant thing, and he took off as soon as he found a way to do so. He was an arsehole to her - beat her, cheated on her etc.
It's convenient for people to blame Yoko (see above post) - better than acknowledging that one of our heroes was flawed.
Julian got nothing because Yoko controlled the purse strings. John used to brag about how smart she was with money. She sure is -- her father was a big-time banker.
Ah yes. The witch who stole generations of great music from us by bewitching Lennon.
We're supposed to care about her WHY?
