Why on earth would you agree to act dumb?
I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you have to announce the fact that you are really not dumb, then you probably are.

NOBODY could have acted the infamous Chicken Of The Sea Incident, but if she was following a script give the girl an Oscar!

While she is technically from Texas, I remember reading that they moved to Cali years ago, hence the typical LA accent.
And since she's blaming the shows bosses and her father was one of them, I see a mean-assed split on the horizon. And then she'll really go nuts.

I think the chicken comment was something to do with Tuna, I think she thought it was 'the chicken of the sea' What about the buffalo wings? I didn't know buffalo's had wings!!
I thing she's a great actress, her dumb blonde act was A+++++ she had all of us fooled!!

Yeah she was saying "well why do they call it Chicken of the Sea? Is it because its chicken? Why didnt they just call it Tuna of the Sea?" She just gave off the impression she always had thought it was chicken and not tuna. It was Nick's look that was priceless. I laughed so hard I was crying. Even my husband was laughing.

Uh, "The Newlyweds" was a reality show, Jessica. Reality shows don't have scripts.

Reality shows do have scripts. I was offered a job writing the synopsis
for one on guru.com, but I didn't take it because I didn't trust the
payment system...
...also, because the writers are paid such dismal money and work in
writers' sweatshops.

Guilds labor to organize workers as genre grows
By DAVE MCNARY
Critics of reality TV skeins say they are dehumanizing and cruel to their contestants. But their real victims -- at least in the eyes of the Writers Guild -- may be the Hollywood workforce that churns them out, a group of writers and editors working for reduced pay and without the usual benefits.
Given the brutal economics of the hyper-competitive TV biz, there's little chance that these working conditions will change, and repeated overtures from labor have yet to take hold.
When the Directors Guild of America came to terms Sept. 23 for a new three-year pact, they won a significant gain of $40 million on health-care, but threw up their hands on reality TV.

Actually the tuna/chicken thing was the one thing that made me like them as a couple. It seemed very real and his reaction was priceless. Come to think of it, maybe that just made me like Nick.

I think Newlyweds probably was scripted to a degree, like they all are... like the situations they got in, the things they talked about.... but that doesn't change the fact that she'd be one of the greatest actresses of our times if she was faking that blank stare, those dopey facing expressions, the stupid comments. They were perfect.
This is what Kathy Griffin had to say about her a while back:
Quote:
She says, "She's just such a dumbass. But charming and gorgeous. That's what Nick likes...
"I was doing a one-nighter (stand-up act) in Jamaica for some fakey celebrity golf tournament. So anyway, Nick and Jessica are there and so I wanna spend as much time around her as possible. I wanna see if she's really that ditzy.
"We all go on this glass-bottomed boat ride. The guide is telling us about our sites and they show us this resort with these beautiful patios right on the water. There's rooms and patios right there on water. And he said, 'These are the most desired rooms in the resort.'
"So then Jessica says, 'I'd sweat to death in that room.'
"She thought the patio was the whole room! Like this resort is gonna sell you a room with total exposure to the elements - no bed or anything! And then Nick's like, 'Honey, that's just the patio. The room's behind there with the door and the bed and air conditioning.'
"And what I love is that she wasn't like, 'Oh God, that's right.' She was just like, 'Oh.' She has no shame. I love it!"
