I liken Jennifer Garner's appeal to what my fiance calls "The Martine McCutcheon Effect." I gotta say that I have always loved Affleck and Garner as a couple. Maybe they come across oddly in public because they value their privacy, he had such a horrific experience with JLo and the press, and they do feel very odd out in public. I saw him on Bill Mahr not too long ago and he came across as extremely intelligent and well-spoken.

I do get the sincere vibe from them. She skyrocketed to fame with Alias and her marriage crumbled. She had an affair with Vartan (did she have an affair with Affleck before her divorce? During Daredevil or whatever?) and then I really disliked her. Because I love Scott Foley and felt bad for him.

But then her pairing with Affleck kind of charmed me. They genuinely seem like they're well-suited. It's a completely different dynamic than J.Lo, and that's a very very good thing.

J.Lo is "hotter"? So f*cking what? Why is "hotness" the thing everybody wants, instead of someone--like Garner--who is very pretty, very sweet, and very likable, and clearly a very nurturing and loving mother. Give me a break. They both look happy, and they both look healthy, and they love their little Violet. I don't see anything disingenuous about them.

But then again, like Emerson said, "People see what they are prepared to see."

I think they seem like a great couple. They're not out there PDA-ing all over the place and they don't make grandiose statements about their love for each other in public, which makes them seem more genuine. They are so cute and seem so well suited for each other--I almost forgot that he dated JLo!

She didn't have an "affair" with Vartan that caused her marriage to crumble. She leaned on him heavily while her marriage was going south and, in fact, he really didn't want to get involved with her romantically while she was separated but she drew him in. The "Affleck rumors on the set of DD" along with her success were the downfall of her marriage.

While I do think she's a genuine sweetheart and a wonderful mother, I have to agree with Sunshine....she's an undercover slut.

Yes, I was on Foley's side with this, and I really didn't like her. She seems to have gotten her act together, and sort of redeemed herself. In my arrogant eyes anyway.

Nothing could be further from the truth and I was in a position to know. Her marriage began fallling apart not long after she was finished filming DD with Affleck. Vartan was smitten over her but the last thing he ever intended to do was become involved in a romatic relationship with her especially right after her separation from Foley. But being that many men are weak, she lured him in. That said, she always had her eye on Affleck.

And I have to agree with SunShine23 from upthread...she is an undercover slut.

i would never condemn her if it's true because she took the expected and necessary steps to get where she wanted. i'm sure all the guys she "used " are no saints. you can't trust any actor no matter how sweet the face
