I liken Jennifer Garner's appeal to what my fiance calls "The Martine McCutcheon Effect." He says that MM's (the one Hugh Grant falls in love with in Love Actually) appeal in Britain is that she seems attainable, she doesn't seem fake or plastic or constructed by some plastic surgeon somewhere. She comes across as someone who is real and, but for a twist of fate, could be a school teacher or the girl who checks you out at Target. Jennifer Garner is the same. She isn't extremely gorgeous but is very pretty in a very normal sort of way.

I gotta say that I have always loved Affleck and Garner as a couple. Maybe they come across oddly in public because they value their privacy, he had such a horrific experience with JLo and the press, and they do feel very odd out in public. I saw him on Bill Mahr not too long ago and he came across as extremely intelligent and well-spoken.
