reading stuff like this always makes me wish celebs would just come forward and tell their own full story--and i dont mean the typical denial story, i mean real and forthcoming.
People like Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey, Britney,Brad Pitt, etc should come forward when stories like this become so abundant and people come out of the wood work with crazy stories and allegations and tell the truth. I think tabs make money on pure speculation, the truth doesnt sell and if there isnt a "new theory" every week about why Brad left Jennifer or why Jessica left Nick, no one wants to read them.
I also think the speculation really ends up hurting the celebs even moreso than having to explain the truth bc its never ending. Look at Danny Bonaduce, hardly a celeb anymore, but hes like "yeah I am a drug addict, a sex addict, an alcoholic, a cheater, etc..." and the tabs dont even bother with him, bc hes too honest to be all that interesting.
I also think fans would be more supportive if celebs would dish a little more. I mean, Nick's and Jessica's fame was purely built on that reality show which was about them being MARRIED, and that reality show gave them a second chance at fame. Then, they get DIVORCED and dont even explain to their fans what happened. I realize they have a right to privacy, but if they want fan support I think they shouldve opened up. I belelive this is the reason why neither of them have been able to reclaim the fame they had when they were together
I honestly think if celebs did that instead of the "no comment" bs and the "confidentiality clauses" theyd endure less pain and intrusion from the tabs/paparazzi, and have more fan support
I want to see Jessica Simpson get on TV and go "look I was getting tons of attention and it peaked my curiosity and I realized I was not ready to be married and that I still desired other men" and Brad Pitt to go "look I had a hard-on for Angelina since the day I met her on the set. We had an affair and for a while I thought it was a mistake and that I really loved my wife but was weak. So I tried to go back to my wife. It was then that I realized I really was in love with Angelina" The ratings would soar, but afterward, the story would be over, and no one would care anymore

Femme Fatale, I totally agree. I can't remember who it was, but I read an interview with some famous person a while back where they said, to paraphrase: "I tell the truth about everything and let it all hang out because that just takes the fear out of life for me." It's definitely the wisest course, I think, because hey, look at all the celebs who screwed up bigtime--which ones came out smelling like a rose? Generally, the ones who 'fessed up, took their lumps, and made a new start. Even Martha Stewart gave herself a huge advantage by shutting the heck up and just going into jail.
I can see how with the whole Brangelina thing, honesty would've defused most of the hostility right from day one. It's all the silly lying and manipulating and doubletalk that's gotten them into so much hot water. Falling madly in love is something most everyone can understand and relate to--being a sneak is far less popular. Just my opinion, but I think you've made a great point.
I can foresee this being a huge issue for Britney. Humility is no longer in her vocab--if it ever was.

Why didn't these people step up to the plate in the beginning when they saw her heading down the wrong path.
All I can say is she has brought this all on herself.

I think drugs and alcohol are strong substances that can really change some people and affect their personalities. I dont drink, never have and dont take any drugs, not even tylenol. Id just rather stay away from them and not even take my chances. i know there are plenty of people who drink with no problems, but id rather not even take my chances.
