Timberlake and Timberland both suck anyways ... I'm sure Brit thought she was being an artist by not pandering to the 10 -14 yr old girl audience those two have cornered.

that said ... if its true she had the chance ... she's an idiot not to do. Cause when either of those guys are involved quality doesn't matter - the mindless masses throw money at it and MTV books it. (anyone listened to Timberlakes last album? Its atrocious, and yet he's a star.)

She's been pandering since the mickey mouse club! she's a product, a manufactured THING that needs computers in order to sing fluffy overproduced crap pop aimed squarely at the 10-14 year old girl range.

kind of a slap in the face for Timbaland and Justin. I wonder if Brit's delusional mind thinks she can do it better without them. It's probably for the best really. Brit would have made a joke out of a song that may very well be good. They should find someone with some real talent to sing it.

I totally agree, I meant thats why she prob. turned them down ... thinking she's an artist now and has outgrown that fluff.

Her entire career is based on fluff and she seems to have no problem with it. Even her "serious" songs are fluff. She'll never outgrow it.

If this is true, there's some other reason she rejected a sure thing. Likely a mental imbalance combined with immature stupidity and a good dose of narcissism.

Contrary to a report in today's Page Six column, Britney Spears has not canceled plans to record a duet with ex Justin Timberlake. In fact, a source close to Brit tells Usmagazine.com that no such plan ever existed!

According to the source, "There have been absolutely no plans for Britney and Justin to record a duet together."

The source continues, "There have been lots of discussions about who Britney is working with and Justin has not been one of them. Nothing with Justin was ever even discussed. Justin has had no time to do it between planning his HBO special, his own Video Music Award stuff and working with Madonna anyway."

Meanwhile, the source also clarifies Page Six claims about Spears' record label, Jive, and their concerns about Brit's actions. "Jive is still supportive of Britney and has no doubt she will deliver when the time comes. They are invested in her but obviously a little nervous for the performance because nobody exactly knows what she is going to do. But she is working feverishly to pull it off. [Jive] just can't wait until they have music to play for people to show them what Britney has actually done."

While we're curious as to how snuggling up with magician Criss Angel signifies Spears "working feverishly," you can count us among the people who plan to tune in for the MTV Video Music Awards on September 9 to see just what the fading pop-star has planned.

Maybe she was trying to get back with Justin; clearly he's not interested. Not wanting to be in the studio with her must be a huge blow for her.

I don't know ANY gay men who would put Brit in the tolerable, much less icon, status. The only thing she is good for is to laugh it. And we already have Liza for that.
