The difference is being gay or a minority is not a choice. Becoming Amtrak is a choice.

See it's funny you should say that, because I was trying to research where the term came from. , Where I'm from, 'faggot' means a big meatball and 'fag' means cigarette, I think it was originally American culture that developed the word as a term for homosexuality but I still can't figure out where it came from!

I understand it to be like any other label, it can be used either way. Friends of mine who are gay have no problem calling me a fag hag, or using the term to label themselves, but at the same time, you say the word with hate and it becomes a term of hate.

It is just a word, just the same as any other label of choice is, and the word itself is not per se offensive, it is the manner in which it is said usually. In this case Isaiah lost his temper and forgot his tact. I very much doubt that if it had just been said on set they would have fired him. I'm also sure that if he hadn't been kicking off at most of the cast members, to the point where his temper tantrums were bigger than the show, he wouldn't have been fired. He was given a time-out like a naughty toddler, and it still didn't make up for it, so he got put out in the cold. I think it shows the sort of person he is that he cannot accept it with begrudging grace, put his hands up and say 'ok so I screwed up, I'll try to do better in future' and instead postures and poses like an arrogant teenager with a bruised ego.

More fool him, the way he's going this is all he's going to be remembered for.

Thanks, but it is the past and all the crap I experienced helped make me the "I am not taking this shit" type. I was young and this was years ago. At the time, it was the only job that I was offered and I needed one. That place was rife with questionable ethics. Employees were racially and sexually harrassed and harrassing. There were even physical assaults by the owner. I stayed because I needed the job. I left after the BS. Seeing as the owner had everyone in his pocket, nothing was ever done and people were lying under oath for him. Karma got him and all his minions.

This is one of the reasons I started my own business. I had several jobs in the south that allowed discrimination openly.

I remember faggot being used as a synonym for chump or punk. It meant a shady, lazy, or weak person. It was a character insult, not a sexual orientation one.

How it evolved into a sexual slur, I don't remember, but I know I was a teenager before I heard it used against gays. When someone was called fag, it was to say stay away from this guy or get burned. I think the equivalent now would be calling a guy a punk bitch.

I have to be honest here - I think his being fired for calling another actor "*****" is just as absurd as his carrying on about it.

People get treated worse everyday by their bosses and can't stick up for themselves because they are afraid of the consequences.

Frankly I think these are actors are just big wet prima donnas paired with executives that will take what ever action they need to to further their own careers.

He is making things much, much worse for himself. I read an article at ONTD where he basically goes on to say the whole thing is a conspiracy cooked up by T.R. Knight. He claims Knight hates McDreamy as well. According to Washinton, he was jealous that he wasn't getting the leading man stories. maybe all of this is true, but it makes Washinton look like a whiny baby. He should suck it up and move on.
