C ruise ->> Ruis ->> Suri
The man is an egomaniac...I think he did the above. He could've gone all the way and named her Surice, but they probably couldn't find a definition for that in the baby books.

Im sure he would have been the first man to raise his hand if science made it possible for him to carry a baby and the first to open a Hollywood Placenta Bar.

^^ Actually, it's not possible. It's more likely that her dates were off. Around 42 weeks, the placenta starts to really diminish it's supply to the baby. I don't know of any physicians that will let you go past 42 weeks.

So the day has finally come!! Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes gave birth to a baby girl. A spokesman, Arnold Robinson, was quoted as saying, The baby, named Suri, weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 20 inches long. The name Suri has its origins in Hebrew, meaning “princess,” or in Persian, meaning “red rose”.
In Scientology it means “daughter of a crazy man”. Well maybe it doesn’t, but it damn well should.
this was taken from Derek Hail

this was 36 years ago...so maybe the dates were off AND the doctor didn't know better than to induce...who knows i'm just saying that just because it's not likely, doesn't mean it's not possible!

Suri has got to be short for "surrogate."

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought of that immediately!

I think this name, Suri is dreadful. It sounds like Currey, the type of food you order at Asian restaurants. Suri also sounds like serial killer. I think the name sucks.
LMAO @ the 'suri-gate' mother comment.

I can't help it, I keep thinking of 'Sayuri' of the film Memoirs of a Geisha.
