Yeah, she used to be flat as a pancake.

Same here. I always thought of mine as lil' angels right from the start.

If one takes the time to hold a precious newborn they will easily be able to tell that there is plenty of personality and beauty there. They are little people, not blobs.

I've met plenty of blob-like adults though!

I have a newborn and can't believe how people get up in arms about the term "blobs." It is not meant in a mean way. While I don't and never have referred to my babies as blobs, I can sure see how someone would view them as such.

I'm not a mother but I get you. When my little sister was born, I spotted her right away in the nursery, wihout anybody having to show her to me. She stood out: looked like a doll, with golden locks, fair skin, bow-shaped red lips, and a perfect button nose. Nowhere near a being "just a blob". As soon as she came home, we could distinctly notice a personality developing on her first days already. Maybe Angelina didn't pay enough attention to her child in order to notice the little things that make her so special. Her comment about babies under a certain age not having a personality was so disrespectful to her own blood.
Exactly! Angelina has a gorgeous, healthy baby, yet she seemed so dismissive of her in that article. To compound this, she went on about not being able to feel as much for Shiloh because she wasn't adopted. I'm sorry, but this goes against all maternal insticts. She obviously has serious issues. This is what changed my opinion about her from neutral to strong dislike.

I'm a mom too and while I never thought to use that word about my child, it doesn't bother me that someone else would. And please remember, we must apparently cut AJ more slack now that she is St. Angelina.

    ^Chin camp,

The difference between Jennifer and Angelina is Angelina is openly a wild child and has a bad rep. Maniston has a good rep but does shit that would give her a bad rep if people knew about it.

New baby incapable of doing anything yet being called blob = psychobabble. That is where this came from folks. And though it's more technical and meant to keep one grounded in reality, not as an insult, try explaining that to every mom who is convinced her new one is possibly the eighth wonder of the world and indignant that anyone could say any less about their wee one.
