This is why I laugh at all those most beautiful and top 100 sexy lists, all these celebuturds are nasty skank ho's, I don't even care to imagine what kind of diseases they all harbor. Grotesque!

I'm glad John is done lowering himself to "date" such a useless, annoying idiot. Can you imagine how painful it was for him to try to have an interesting adult conversation with that twit?

Well, HELL, I KNEW it was almost over the other day when I read an article describing how Jessica had "given up" her 24/7 entourage of CaCee, Ken, etc......
....she can't EXIST without her people propping her up constantly...DUH.

Well, from everything I've heard, John is no prize either. Hugely egotistical and nasty to anyone who can't help him in his career, including fans, he's nothing to write home about. I find him marginally talented and unattractive to boot.

I don't know, maybe he's talented by today's lacklustre musical standards, but I can think of 20 blues singers better than him.

He can carry a tune and play the guitar, so I guess according to today's nonexistent musical standards he's a genius.

Jessica Simpson Says She's 'Very Happy' Post-Split
FRIDAY MAY 18, 2007 06:20 PM EDT
By Monique Jessen and Pete Norman
Jessica Simpson at the Cannes Film Festival Photo by: George Pimentel / WireImage The same day that news broke of her split from John Mayer, Jessica Simpson says she's "very happy."
Asked by PEOPLE about the split at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, Simpson replied: "I am very happy, but I don't really want to talk about my personal life tonight because it's not what it's about. But I am very happy. I will let you know that."
The singer-actress officially announced her newest film project, Major Movie Star, at the festival Friday.
Simpson, wearing an off-the-shoulder sequined dress, arrived at the Budweiser Select yacht at 10:15 p.m. in Cannes to help promote her new role in the upcoming military caper, which starts shooting in July in Louisiana.
Earlier this month Simpson's rep confirmed to PEOPLE that the singer had signed on for the title role in the comedy, about a down-on-her-luck actress who enlists in the Marines.
Earlier Friday, sources close to both Simpson and Mayer confirmed that the couple had parted ways – but not necessarily for good.
"They have broken up," a source tells PEOPLE. "But they have broken up and gotten back together at least 10 times before."
Another source said the pair have "been e-mailing and talking to each other" since Simpson arrived in Cannes on Wednesday.

He had a song they played to death, just like James Blunt. Don't remember the title. He's so over at the mainstream level, and I don't know his music either.

She's happy she no longer has to pretend that the friendship is anything more than that.

pacific breeze: You are dead on right about John Mayer's personality. He isn't much of a prize. He likes to sound like he is and craft and image of a "nice guy" but the truth is the opposite.
people keep saying there is "more to the story" and wait until it leaks to the press etc. joe simpson will have some 'splain' to do. i hope these two get exposed for a farce in the press and become national jokes (even worse than they already are)

John Mayer has a great voice and amazing lyrics. But everyone has different taste, especially based on age. ie, teeny boppers, adult, teenagers..etc

Maybe that's the reason he was with Jess. Compared to the screechy, mumbling, digitally filtered crap that she tries to pass off as singing, John is a musical genius. I like John and his singing is okay, I like listening to his voice, but I agree that the standards are no where near where they used to be. I blame that on the whole "created pop star/ boyband era" (i.e. N'Sync, Britney, Jessica, etc.). Image and looks have become more important than actual talent.

^Yes, and the people I've liked are people who are well-known and extremely revered in the music biz but not necessarily a household name - people like Mississippi Fred McDowell, Mississippi John Hurt, Robert Johnson, Sippie Wallace, etc.etc.etc. ETC. Most of them are black. I have a theory that black people have a special genius when it comes to music - most genres of music. I'll probably get called a racist for that, but I believe it's true. Most of the legendary musicians we revere in the modern world are black. And the ones who are are white greatly revere their black idols/mentors/inspirations.

^Yes and no. It depends on the genre of music. Jazz and blues, absolutely, the greats who happen to be white are in the minority there. But as for singer/songwriters, which is really what Mayer is, it's not as level a playing field. Mayer is really a Sting wannabe--I think Mayer's pretty gifted, and I like his stuff generally. But suddenly he wants to be a blues artist.......what? White boy from Fairfield, CT?
