Among those actors already on board to play members of the Ewing clan are John Travolta as jr, Jennifer Lopez as Sue Ellen, Luke Wilson as Bobby, and Shirley MacLaine as Miss Ellie.

Well duh, their all aliens.

Re: Director quits 'Dallas' movie because unhappy with casting choices
Is it wrong of me to have immediately thought they were remaking Debbie Does Dallas when I saw the title of this thread?

Re: Director quits 'Dallas' movie because unhappy with casting choices
Wow - with that cast the remake is a train wreck waiting to happen! And why in God's name would they consider the director of stupid kid's movie to remake the hottest show on TV in the early 80s? Come to think of it, why would they remake the show period. Why mess with a good thing? Let it be!

They should make a trashier version, it could be really funny - with Paris Hilton as Lucy, I insist

Aw, damn, I can't believe I wrote that! I've always loved her and know damn well she died more recently. Just thinking about how they cast June Lockhart (or some other equally white bread bore) in her place still steams me.
(Heyyyy... who the hell does June Lockhart think she is, anyway?? She also was the "new" mom on "Lassie" when that goodie-goodie Jon Provost took Jeff's place. That was sick and wrong, too. Yes, I realize no one born after Eisenhower was president will know what I'm talking about. Just an old lady rambling about her cobweb-festooned childhood here... )

Re: Director quits 'Dallas' movie because unhappy with casting choices
I don't like Paris as Lucy at all. Lucy was voluptuous, and had fire in her. Paris is stick thin & vapid. If she tried to act fiery & sassy, she would come across as affected.
For the acting perspective of Lucy, I see somebody like a younger Sarah Michelle Gellar, but she's too old now & the look would never be right.
Has anybody mentioned Scarlett Johanson?

Re: Director quits 'Dallas' movie because unhappy with casting choices
Big Dallas fan here too. I don't want them to redo it but if they are, they need to recast the whole damn thing. Everyone they have now just will not work. And someone said Jack Palance as Jock? I believe he is in the great beyond as well so that wouldn't work either.

I agree! Hollywood should stop doing remakes!
