I'm sure that as devout Catholics, Kathy and Martin Holmes find this highly offensive. I hope that Martin is serious about "making a move" and is making every effort to get Katie out of this cult before they sacrifice her to Tom Christ.

What am I missing here - Did Martin say he was going to "make a move"? I feel like she has already sacrificed herself which is fine. I think Scientology os so far out there but feel they can go about their business like any other religion as long as they do not hurt others.

OMG that's hilarious. I'd love to start calling him that but I'd always be looking out for lightening to strike me dead.

Yes. I mentioned this on the First-Hand Rumors thread, but I have relatives who are friends with Martin and Kathy and apparently Martin has become increasingly concerned about Katie's safety and infuriated with Tom's control over her and says that he is getting ready to "make his move."

A very good friend of mine was raised in a Scientology camp out in CA in the mid 70's, and he went to their school, etc. His parents were CoS back in the NY days and moved to CA and were pretty high up. His dad came to his senses and finally left, and then shortly came back and "pretended" that he saw the error of his ways and was reformed once again, and basically, after several months when things died down, kidnapped my friend and his brother. But by that point they had been captive for about 6 years. He said they went to a form of "school" but were also forced to work at night stuffing mailings, in gardens, etc., and that the children were separated from the parents most of the time. He said that he and his brother were barely permitted to speak to each other, too.
His mother left CoS years later, but he has a half sister who is about 10 years younger than he who is very involved and won't talk to anyone in the family. I have spoken to both of his parents and they seem ashamed that they were so stupid to get involved in CoS back then, but made it clear that once you are in so deep it is very, very hard to get out.
My buddy has been scarred for life over some of the things he went through, and his brother, too. Thankfully, his Dad had enough sense to get them both into therapy as soon as he relocated them back to the east coast.
The children are the real victims in these cults.

A guy that I work with part of the Co$. He gets a monthly magazine and all. Has it on his desk sometimes. I always want to steal it, but I'm pretty sure he'll know it's me. It looks kind of boring because there's always some Dakota Fanning looking kid on the front. It might even be a Co$ "parenting" magazine.

My father-in-law has the Co$ right on the corner of his street. It's really small actually, in the bottom of an appartment building. I don't they have many members here. A while back they called us at the shopping center I work at and they ask if they could rent a stand to promote Co$ in the center. We said no way!

Hey..can someone help me out. I'm trying to find a thread/post within the last few weeks about $cientology where someone posted a few links to a website that was written by a former leader in the cult.
I was trying to tell my co-workers about it since this latest "christ" article and I have searched all the threads, archives, etc and can't remember where I found it. Just wondering if it rings a bell for anyone. I want to show them how freaky they are.
Thanks

I finally stopped laughing long enough to comment. Opps. Gotta go. The laughing fit is coming back.
