You have my deepest sympathies PrettyGirl. That your father lived for 6 years is amazing..I am glad you had that much time with him. Asbestos is a scary thing, but was commonplace for quite a long time. I have it in my house in my heating ducts(am afraid to touch it or disturb it in an way, and it is so costly to remove I just leave it alone).

Pretty girl, I am so sorry for your loss. ((((((((PG)))))))))
Dana was pure with dignity and grace and such a wonderful/beautiful/humane person inside and out....wish there were more people like her in the world.
So sad, so very sad for this life taken so young.

It's the old saying - only the good die young. Dana was a role model of dignity and compassion, not only during her husband's brave endeavours to regain some kind of 'normality' after his terrible injuries, but also during her own personal battle with illness. RIP.
I wonder how many other Hollywood Wives would have stuck around their husbands once they were no longer 'box office'.

Thank you so much for the condolences. Regarding asbestos, there are stricter laws now regarding it, but it is still in many buildings, insulation, ceilings, air conditioning systems, etc..It is scary and it is very expensive to have it removed. That's why so many buildings still have it--it's cheaper. I had a 'popcorn' ceiling and had it removed 2yrs ago. It was full of asbestos. I was scared to even live in my house after that. You don't know how long it's in the air.
A*O, I agree, very few wives would've stood by their husband's side the way Dana Reeve did--Hollywood wives or any wife for that matter. The vows say, through sickness and through health, but few people actually live by them. This woman (along with my mother) were inspirations...faithful till the end to their husbands.

OK, I just heard some 'spiritual advisor' saying in one of those annoying and well-modulated vioces that Dana's death was actually a 'beautifil thing because she and Chris had a great love story in life and now have one in death'. Okaaaaaaaayyyyy....tell that to the kid.

Yep, I know exactly the one you heard> Marianne Williamson. For somebody that "spiritually in tune" she sure could sum up the beauty of this tragedy in a very clinical way. I am saddened that people in their hour of need (like Dana Reeve and a little over a decade ago Elizabeth Glaser of the Pediatric Aids Foundation) do believe and seek comfort with types like her. Even if they did find solace and comfort in what these people claim, I can't get over the fact that they're all so glib and do ask money for their spiritual services.

Yeah, the cash for consolation racket is annoying as hell. It is glib and I think we should sic Tom Cruise on her.
