Went through what? A life of luxury and privilage? She was groomed throughout her childhood to be the wife of charles and was perfectly happy with the arrangement.
She wasn't that great either, she did help others and do good things for charity, but also was quite willing to put peoples lives at risk in the name of personal publicity and one upmanship (the famous shot of her watching open heart surgery whilst caked in mascara and with her hair carefully styled out the front of her surgical cap... and why did she do it? because Charles was doing a big launch for the Princes Trust that day and she couldn't stand the fact he was going to get more positive press than her...)
She was vain, arrogant, self centered, unstable and didn't give two hoots about her kids when she was staging suicide attempts or galavanting round the world with one playboy after another (or stealing other peoples husbands, you forget she did her fair share of that...)
Personally i think Camilla is 10 times the person that Diana was, it's just that Diana died tragically at a point where everyone was sick to death of her and suddently all her bad points were forgotten.

^^^ I agree!!! What the hell did Diana "go though"? OK Charles was unfaithful (as most royal men are and she would have known that from the start) but at least he restricted himself to one woman, Camilla. Diana would and did shag anything with a pulse but apparently that's OK because "he did it first". The woman was a liability and of course she didn't deserve to die in those circumstances but she was a deeply flawed person who was completely unsuitable for her role as princess of Wales and future Queen.

Exactly!
And even at some of the hospitals/charity events she turned up to - the cost of the new dress she bought to attend was probably worth more than was raised anyhow...........

It all comes down to looks. Diana was pleasant enough to look at with the right makeup and held herself beautifully being 10 foot tall and all, whereas Camilla was not camera fodder as she was simply unattr.....I mean ugly. If they were bothgoodlooking thepublic would have a totally different attitude towards Camilla. AndCamilla actually loves Charles for himself. Diana wanted to make him into a trendy dandy that just wasnt him. And for him to fawn and adore her as much as she adored herself. Self mutilation etc., aside. She thought she was hot stuff. And imparted that thought on the public, so we thought she was too. And pitied her. If Camilla was not a dog things would not be so against her. Personally I think she suits Charles to a Tee.

^^^ Absolutely!!! That's the same reason why Sarah Ferguson got such a bad rap when she wasn't doing half the stuff Diana was.

Saying Camilla is a better person than Diana is a bit farfetched though. It sounds like with most of you that you actually hold Diana's good looks against her and like Camilla because she is less so.

wasn't charles that ruined his marriage in the beggining by secreatly seeing camilla, while still married to diana? and besides, diana loved her 2 sons. camilla should feel sick and worry, she has a black conisciense to deal with, otherwise why would she be worried. that old prune should dry up already. and i hope charles never becomes king, that stupid whore

Diana knew all about them when she married. She wanted to be a rich and famous Princess.

Isn't it interesting that we are now daring to tell the truth about Diana (a mentally unstable, self-absorbed, manipulative media-whore) instead of worshipping her as some kind of martyr/saint. Her remaining Di-Hard fads still think she was completely blameless and that her numerous flings were totally OK and understandable because "he started it" and it was all a 'cry for help' anyway. No it wasn't. You can't be 'forced' into cheating and doing it as some kind of childish revenge tells us a lot about her moral compass. And yes, she loved her kids, don't all mothers? I know such emotional connection with your kids is unusual in Royal circles but it's nothing exceptional in the big wide world.
Tina Brown's new biography of Diana should be fascinating, although I doubt it's going to have any startling new revelations. I still don't think we've been told the real circumstances surrounding her death but we are never going to be told so that's that. Dodi Fayed was not going to marry her (although his father insists otherwise) and she was not preggo. He was just another shag.

I plan on reading this. The circumstances surrounding the accident have always been a little fishy or seemed odd.

If Diana was so into the sanctity of marriage how come she had affairs with numerous married men, breaking up their marriages?

The Di-Hards will huff and puff that she was forced into it because Charles did it first. Purleeze. I'm not defending any of them but at least he cheated with only one woman, the love of his life, rather than behave like St Diana who would and did bang anything with a pulse. And Camilla has NEVER spoken publicly about any of this - and she certainly didn't go on national TV to whine about it.
