Is no-one else shocked/surprised that she delivered it herself? We have balifs for that as the court needs a record of them being delivered (from a 3rd party).
Taking the papers herself? Stupid; legally. Hurtful; personally. Vindictive? Incredibly!!!

Surely there would be other grounds to have the kids taken from her? General parenting skills? Lack of judgment? Anything?

Fashion Icon Britney Spears has reportedly been threatening to file a restraining order against her mother, Lynne Spears. Sources say that Britney served her mom with what they think (key word here) is a restraining order earlier today.
Britney has also apparently backed out of performing with Cyndi Lauper for fear that she might actually having to sing.
Meanwhile down on the farm, Kevin Federline is “dubious about Brit’s ability to be a mother to 21-month old Sean and 9-month old Jayden.”

A source close has told Us Weekly: “He thinks she’s mentally unstable and too young to be a mom.”
“[Kevin] expects full custody of his children one day.”
But he won’t abandon her completely: “He loves his kids and, to that extent, he will look after Britney.”

The papers were not a restraining order. TMZ reports it was a letter from an out-of-state lawyer that “asks Lynne to stay away from the children if she is taking any medications that would impair her ability to be around them.”

A defiant Britney made a fleeting visit to her mother's trailer in Valencia, California, where she abruptly handed over the papers, leaving Lynne completely stunned.


Website X17 writes: "Our sources tell us that the paperwork is complete and that Britney is claiming her mother is abusing prescription pain medication and that she should be kept away from Sean and Jayden."

Serious: the breakdown of Britney's relationship with her mum is well-documented



Their relationship reportedly became strained when the star accused her mother of conspiring with her manager, Larry Rudolph to force her into rehab earlier this year.

Britney sacked Rudolph weeks after leaving the facility.

Lynne is also reported to have maintained a close relationship with Britney's ex husband Kevin Federline which has fuelled tensions.

In more bad news for the singer, Federline is said to be refusing to sign off on the couple's divorce papers.

One source told American magazine People: "Britney's attorneys are anxious to see Kevin sign off on a divorce.


"But Kevin and his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan are dragging their heels out of concern over reports of Britney's post-rehab partying."

The insider added that Federline's representatives "wants to make sure that the divorce document makes it simple enough for Kevin to downsize Britney's access to her kids the next time her behaviour troubles him."

The magazine adds that despite Britney's month long stint in rehab, she has resumed drinking.


She was spotted sipping alcoholic cocktails at Los Angeles hotspot Benvenuto Caffé earlier this month.

Britney's lawyer Laura Wasser, said: "I do not feel it's appropriate to comment the personal life or legal positions of my client."

Britney is probably telling her mom, "I'm the queen bitch now!!! I make the money, I rule the hen. So get out of my face or you won't be getting anymore money!!" Ofcourse the mom loves the rich life-style so much, she's going to back down.

She may be a stage mother, but Lynne never seemed malicious or bitchy to me. In fact, she put up with alot that my own mother would have bitchslapped me for, I think because she does love her daughter. She may have made some bad choices (what mother doesn't), but she never appeared to be in it solely for the money. I feel really bad for her, how anyone can treat their own mother like this, I just cannot comprehend.
