Britney Spears plays House of Blues gig in a lackluster 20 minutes

Well, I'm in San Diego now and don't know what the big deal is....they mentioned it on the news last night but it's not live they really announced it all over the city. The House of Blues is in downtown San Diego and it's pretty small. For being an 'international star' it's not like she decided to come back with a bang or like she packed a stadium full of thousands. In fact, the local paper says she didn't come out until 10pm and only performed for 20 minutes at most (even though People Magazine says it was more like 14 minutes!) To put it simply, she only sang 4 songs!! It was all hype and no substance.

So much for Britney Spears' 'big comeback'.

funny thing is, i don't know one twelve year old who actually likes britney. her days are over. imo the only people that went to that were people who used to dance to her 8 years ago (die hard fans) and people who wanted to see her fuck up.

I don't think she's ever looked good -- lights and makeup can work wonders, but more importantly, she HAS NO TALENT. Why will people continue to go for that? No amount of hype will be able to hide in the end that she was a manufactured teen star whose time has come and gone. Only her bizarre antics are keeping her in the media spotlight and someone new will come along to replace her. They might even be able to write songs and sing. Imagine that.

Now I hate Britney Spears but I'll argue this: she does, or did, have talent in that she can dance well and has very good stage presence. In her prime, she owned the stage and could get a crowd excited. I'll even go so far to say that she had a big little voice once upon a time (her childhood performance and Star Search videos are proof of that). She chose not to develop her voice and concentrated on her image instead.

That worked until she revealed to the public what a fuck up she was without people to tell her what to do, and how she couldn't make a smart decision on her own to save her life. Now her die-hard fans cling so hard to her former star image and can overlook this and make excuses for her, but most people can't. There's no denying that she's a JOKE with no one to blame for her problems but herself and her own bad decisions. And time's running out for a public redemption.

I think you could also say that she can't sing while dancing at the same time anymore due to the damage she's done to her lungs with smoking. She needs to give that shit up if she wants to get in shape (both vocally and physically).
