You are overreacting. I never said a nurse was beneath me. I simply stated that a PRIVATE nurse working for me would be in charge of her patients linens and laundry, and general patient area. It should remain sanititary. It has nothing to do with cleaning up after myself. This is about a patient and nurse. You don't disgust me but I wish you were a bit more amusing.

I agree that the nurses should be keeping the baby's general area clean and cleaning up after the baby, but I don't think that they should be cleaning up after Britney and Kevin or any of his other bastard kids that are no doubt tear-assing around that house. Especially since Britney and Kevin don't really work or have any other commitments. They're just too lazy to clean up after themselvs. If she wants maids, she needs to hire one nurse and 5 maids instead of getting six nurses who could be attending to other patients and expecting the 5 who aren't currently with the baby to substitute as cleaning ladies.

I can't believe there's even a discussion about this. A nurse is a nurse... nurses don't clean bathrooms, maids do. If you asked a maid to feed, change, and otherwise care for your baby, you'd also be wrong, because that's not their job. You hire a nurse for the baby, and a maid for cleaning.

Good luck finding a private nurse that wants to scrub your toilets unless you're willing to pay her a hell of a lot more.

Ok, I am a nurse. I have also worked as a nursing assistant in home health. As a nursing assistant I did all kinds of menial work, such as wiping ass and cleaning toilets. I even went to patient homes where there was a Registered Nurse there 24 hours a day (in the case of home vent patients), and the nurse never did the cleaning. I would do that kind of thing as a nurse assistant. But, usually just light housekeeping and cooking. But, there are people specifically for this type of work. They are called housekeepers, caregivers, or companions. Nurses should not have to do this type of work. It is one thing to keep the general area tidy and sanitary. I am all about that, but I am also really anal about that. When I worked at the hospital as a nurse I would tidy up patient rooms, I did not leave a giant mess just because there was a housekeeper. That is just rude. But, if I worked for some little old lady, who was nice, and did not expect me to use a toothbrush (as I stated happened to me once as a CNA), and she was not able to clean house and could not afford to hire a cleaner, I would probably tidy up some on my down time, but that is just me. Although, if I were expected to do it I would be pissed. Because that really is not part of the job description. Now private duty nurses, that is another story. If they are directly hired by the family or patient, I suppose they could be made to do whatever the family or patient wants in addition to patient care. But I have also taken care of some people who feel they are really quite entitled and that I am specifically there to be at their beckoned call and wait on them hand and foot. I have told people in the past that I am not a waitress or a maid, I am a healthcare worker.

Bless you Chuckpony! We need more people like you. Nursing shortage and all. I know I basically kissed the nurses who took care of me my times in the hospital. Shit, I know without a couple of them, my doc would have made a huge mistake had they not caught it.

I just can't believe she would do or act like that. I understand hormonal. But it seems like people are always wanting to believe the worst about Britney. Personally I think she's dumb for hanging onto Kevvie, but I think some of the worst things said about her is because it gets press and people can get their names in the papers.
