I don't think at this point anyone really cares about her.
She made her bed so she should go and do whatever she wants on it.

I don't for a minute believe this is PPD. I had it after both my children were born. I would have thrown myself off the roof, but I didn't have the energy to climb the stairs. Notice that it's called post-partum depression, not post-partum mania. IMO Brit's got a lot more mania going on than anything else.

Picking and scratching and poor hygiene and bad decisions and narcissism does indeed sound like meth. Her weight's holding up pretty well at this point if that's indeed the problem, but just give it time. I guess she's not shooting since she wears so little clothing all the time (i.e., she's not worried about tracks), but she could be snorting or smoking. Or, if it is meth and she is shooting, she could be doing it between her toes or in her vaginal lips (bleah).

Yet a vital part of PPD is what the OP described, being lethargic, not caring, etc. Every mom with PPD I've ever heard of could barely, if at all, get out of bed, much less their house.

Very different from Britney who went out clubbing every night till 4 am with friends, appeared on Letterman, dumped her husband, hooked up with new guys and went to the opening of an envelope. As for her hygiene, how quickly people forget! Before she ever had babies she was dressing like trash. The first time she went barefoot into a gas station bathroom it was long before she had kids. She got married in torn jeans and photographed at clubs with stained clothes, etc. She's always been trashy, dirty, worn stained clothes and pigged out on junk food long before she had kids. That's her default: the few times when stylists were able to wrestle her into makeup and nice clothes for photo shoots were the exception, not the rule.

The big thing that doesn't line up with meth for me is her weight. It's going up, up, up. She is definitely eating. I wouldn't rule it out, as I don't know if maybe some meth addicts still gain weight. But to me it sounds more like binge drinking, maybe coke, and a totally warped sense of reality, courtesy of her immaturity and wealth/power (which=no one can tell her no, or talk any sense into her).

I don't see her as depressed, because she's got plenty of energy to go clubbing, go to dinner, on vacations, not to mention making sure she gets photographed almost everyday. To me she's manic, angry and petulant. Not yet a mental condition but it could easily turn into one when and if she realizes the hole she's dug herself into.

I think her current state of batshit craziness is most likely the outcome of meth use/abuse, but I think there may have been some PPD or bipolar mixed in there to begin with. Whether or not it's still a major contributor to her current state of mind I wouldn't like to guess.

Probably also the effects of a lot of cocaine and ecstasy usage over the years. Maybe she still just on sparkle dust and disco pills (and eating) or maybe she's 'graduated' up to meth... who knows?!

Yeah, but wouldn't her extreme and sudden fame--and the even more severe and sudden withdrawal from it since her career tanked--have the same effects? I think fame and attention are her real drugs. In combination with a smattering of real drugs, low intelligence, stubbornness, NO common sense or self-control and millions in the bank=meltdown.
