Hmm, the anti-depressant thing is interesting. I remember a former co-worker of mine lost her sister-in-law because of a crazy drug interaction several years back. She was taking Paxil for depression, a pretty high dosage, and went to another doctor for a different ailment. He gave her some kind of medicine, can't remember what, but she had a bad drug interaction between the paxil and this other medication, and wound up dying. Her nervous system shut down and her husband found her on the floor, dead. Very very tragic. Don't know whatever happened with that as far as holding any of the Drs. accountable since I've completely lost touch with the co-worker, but the sister-in-law never told the other doc that she was on Paxil. Both doctors gave her office samples of the drugs, so there was never a pharmacist to catch the interaction either. This could be the case with Daniel Smith. It could be something really weird like this situation, and criminal charges could be medical negligence or something.

Why did she hire another lawyer when HKS has been her right hand man for so many years? Do you have to hire a lawyer from the Bahama's when you have a case there? Otherwise, that's just fishy.
Some Extra reporter guy was on our local radio today. He was saying that Paris often plays the dumb blonde but that ANS truely is whacked out all of the time. This can't help her cause at all. Losing a son at 20 would make any sane person crazy, nevermind what will happen to a mentally fragile woman whose hormones are currently doing sommersaults.

Maybe HKS doesn't have a license to practice in the Bahamas.

What law is being practised? He made a statement. Anna Nicole, as often as she goes to court, has more than one lawyer.

With all the work and many complications she's had with those tits over several years, I highly doubt she would have managed anyway. Not to mention it was probably everything they could do to keep her clean enough for long enough to give birth to a healthy baby.

Uh, yes. They spoke to the press outside the Supreme Court.

I am really sad for her, Someone on a previous page made it sound like we are all thinking Anna did something, I have not seen one post where anyone thought that.. WE were all pointing the finger at HKS... But I really do think He cared for Daniel, besides it would be realistic that it is drugs because he had learned alot from his mother... Sad but true this girl would pass out while talking. SLurring so bad...... My mother died from a prescription drug overdose so i know she was doing lots of pills before she got pregnant. SHe even sounded like my mom. We live in Tx so the way she talked always freaked me out. I just really really hope she cleaned up her act for this baby.

There would be no point in keeping a lawyer on retainer if he/she wasn't licensed to practice in the country you're in. And honestly, as far as any slew of lawyers she may or may not have or have had, I just haven't followed this woman's life enough to know that much about her. All I've ever known is that she was a former stripper who got a boob job, got into Playboy, did some ads for Guess, married a really old man (for love, obviously, never for money), did alot of drugs, etc., and had some sort of RTV show that I never saw. She's always been like a human version of white noise for me...always there in the background but not someone I've ever paid much attention to.

You seem to have a tenuous grasp on how the law is practised. Anna's court cases were in Texas and California. It doesn't matter if she was residing in the Bahamas, those cases remain in those jurisdictions. Her other legal affairs, those typical to a celeb/actress/model would have nothing to do with Bahamian law. For instance, if she signed a new contract with Guess, she would need a lawyer to review it. U.S. law would apply.

I understand what you're saying but since she's in the Bahamas, was just given citizenship there (I'm quite sure I read that in one of the articles) and was having her baby there, I imagine there must have been legal issues to be dealt with. Or maybe he was retained in light of what happened with her son and the ensuing investigation. Either way, it's all speculation but eventually all will be made clear.

Yeah, certain sedatives are SUPPOSED to cause memory loss. Like if you're having a procedure with IV sedation, such as getting wisdom teeth pulled, the sedatives they give you are supposed to keep you from remembering the procedure. I'm sure if they gave them to her shortly after, she could've forgotten it all.

I just heard that she recently became a permanent resident of the Bahamas, which might explain the local lawyer.
