She had had 5 straight years of critical and box office bombs and was a laughingstock with her wierdo antics and TMI interviews. Her career was going straight down the toilet. But she revived it in a big way by having her affair with Bradley. That created the buzz around the movie to make it her first hit in ages and it catapaulted her media profile and fame level. She wasn't 1/2 as famous as she is now. Nobody cared about her. She kept trying to get our attention with her crazy antics and interviews but all people did was laugh at the freakshow. Now she's one of the biggest celebs out there, in the tabloids all the time and the attention whore that she is she just can't stop pimping out new things to get even more attention. If Brad dumped her today, her media profile and the general public's interest in her would greatly decline after the breakup press died down and whoever Brad started dating would be the new "it" girl in the media. It happened with Gwyneth and Jen. Brad is the one they are interested in. Ange needed him to revive her pathetic career as a B grade movie flop star and Razzie-nominated joke.

It certainly isn't Angelina who is paying for all of their mansions. She couldn't even make the top 20 richest female stars in Hollywood list. Her living standard has gone way up since she's been with Brad. She sure makes sure when she does those "pose with poor people" photo ops to improve her image that Bradley rents out the most expensive and secluded luxury resorts for her to lounge around in after she's done posing. She's such a hypocrite flying in on her private jet and taking a few photos with poor people for her own image and to feel good about herself and then living a lavish lifestyle with money she could have donated to those poor people she says she cares so much about

The comparison isn't exact, but she kind of reminds me of a Heather Mills-type figure. A cold, calculating seductress who tries to pimp herself out to the media as a saint because of their charity work, yet so many people see right through her. I'm not even a Jen fan but you don't have to be to see that Jen is 1000x more likeable than Ange and conducts her private life in a real humanitarian manner unlike selfish serial homewrecker Angie who doesn't care who she hurts as long as she gets what she wants.

So true. She was on the downslide before hooking up with Brad. I thinks she was very good in Gia and Girl, Interrupted because they were characters very close to her true self. Like Courtney Love in the Larry Flint movie, not much of a stretch.

The plight of Africa has been ongoing for ages. I remember celeb spokespeople for African charities in the 60's man! Sadly it may never end. It's not some brand new thing A.J had discovered, and we need to suddenly spring to action.
I remember being repulsed by A.J even before Tomb Raider .(am Gemini) I'm not sure why, other than she's always seemed evil to me in some way,IMO.

I find her blob comment to be no big deal. But the other things she said about her daughter(the womb raider) were seriously odd!

When has she ever had even close to this much media attenion and public interest? She had some interest during the Billy Bob days but that was based on what a freakshow couple they were. I never saw her in the mags or mentioned on forums or in the public's conciousness very much at all prior to Brad and Jen's separation and her role in it.

I'll admit her being with Brad has given her much more attention but to act like she was some nobody with no career whatsoever and then all of a sudden just became popular out of nowhere thanks to Brad Pitt is ridiculous. Academy Award anyone? Even Brad doesn't have that!

And after she split with Billy Bob (and even the time when Alexander came out) she was quite popular. She was all over those stupid ass lists like "Hottest Woman In The World" and "Hottest Female Celebrity" and everyone and their mama was talking about how great and hot she was.

I don't know....I tend to think that her career was not that great prior to meeting Brad, she had a career of box office bombs. Pull up her career on imdb, it has been less than stellar. I do think she got quite a hefty boost in publicity due to him. I think to say money factored into her attraction to him is ridiculous. But lets face it, everything in Hollywood is calculated to some degree. She wasn't dumb and knew how much publicity she would generate hooking up with Brad (especially married Brad).

I think she's a fantastic actress in films like Gia and Girl, Interrupted. But thats because the characters aren't a stretch. Its not technically acting when you are the role. She's not a convincing actress otherwise. You would never see her in a light, comedic role, at least pulling it off properly. Amazing actors are those who can transition into any role with ease (Robert DeNiro, for example).
