Gotta love it.

Aw, part of me wishes she would go back to her crazy days with Billy Bob for entertainment value. But now with all those kids there is now chance that this is not going to happen.

Yeah, but to be fair, those of us who are hardcore Maniston bashers are NOT Brangeloonies. Which makes it even harder on the Fanistons, because they think we have to have some ulterior motive for bashing the Beloved Jen (TM).
I still think the birthday party is tack-ay. Not *wrong*, just very very tacky.

When you have little kids, all the things you said you would never do go out the window when you actually have one. My daughter hates tacky, and hates all the Disney princess stuff. She is a hippie type. All organic, all natural toys etc. When they were at a store one day her daughter saw some plastic toys she wanted. Her mom said "no, we don't buy plastic toys" my grandaughter answered, "But I love love love plastic". Nana buys her plastic, and she loves the disney princesses. She even wears her crappy cinderella dress to the organic grocery store. So I understand the party that Maddox wanted and I think it says a lot about them, that they put aside their feelings and gave Maddox the party he wanted. My other grandson went through this phase also and he was never never allowed any sort of weapon toys. Boys like that stuff. I still hate the Brangelina's though.

I just love Brangelina photos.
Oops! Looks like I accidentally posted a Global Green conference photo by mistake.

Could her arms be any skinnier? By the time Halloween rolls around, Brad'll be able to hang her out on the front porch as a scary decoration.

Oh, I know. My mom was vehement about not letting my brother have toy guns and now he has about eight real ones in a safe in the garage, LOL.
The reason I think it's tacky is that they've adopted these kids from developing nations, where war is very much a reality, if not in those countries, at least in neighboring areas. I just think it's really insensitive to claim to be humanitarians and then 'dress up and play soldier' when there are thousands of people (including children just like theirs) who are being ravaged by the atrocities of war.
It seems to be there's a pretty big difference between buying Princess Jasmine and voluntarily putting on a uniform of death to pretend with your kids. I mean, seriously, if your granddaughter came up to you and said she wanted to play 'refugees from Darfur' wouldn't you be just a liiiiiittttle freaked out??

It's amazing how quickly people take it to heart when someone says something not so nice about a celebrity they like. Some of the threads on Angelina or Mannistan, holy shit people, get a grip, it's not worth getting that hot and bothered about, it's celebrity gossip, something for shits and giggles!
Anyhow, back to the regularly scheduled subject, I actually do have kids, and I totally plan on using that little two lettered word if my kid comes to me asking for a military party, it's called NO. Big bad mommy here. Yep, kids will make their own guns, swords and crap from toast, legos, I have a big fucking tree branch downstairs painted six different colours with knobs hammered into it, and labelled "machine gun, freeze ray, fire thrower, death ray" etc. because MIL wouldn't let DH have a gun. He made one, and he kept it. So be it, but there are issues that I won't be giving into and many parents don't, and surprise surprise, kids don't need therapy after it. Guns happen to be one of them. Years later, while DH keeps the gun as a sign of creative defiance to his mother (he's a scorpio, what can I say) he's absolutely opposed to toy guns in our home, is the chair of an internation organisation against violence, and is a pretty passive guy. War (real war, not a story made up by George Lucas or Tolkien) is not something I take lightly and would fashion a party after. And if you still doubt whether I'm serious, please check back in 18 years and you can ask my kids if I ever relented. *G*

Well said. Take it all in context. I assume many of us are here are just here for purely entertainment purposes.

Most definitely, most people I've seen take all the celebrity bashes in stride and have fun with it. The few who get their panties in a bunch, well...there's a few of those on every forum. lol

Sheesh.

Ava and Deacon pics wouldn't net as much as Maddox pics. That's just a fact.

I know, as a mother, I have changed my mind a FEW times on things I have said I would and would not allow, where my child was concerned.

Yes I would, as she is only 4. I don't think the word you are looking for is tacky though, more like inappropriate, poor taste, or ironic. Tacky is having an Elvis minister at your wedding.
