I'm not "pretending" that disagreements don't happen in other celeb threads. But I've been here about two and a half years and I think it's fair to say that GR has never seen the level of animosity in any other celeb threads compared to that generated by the JA, BP and AJ threads or combinations thereof. There was a two-week moratorium on them before, it had nothing to do with me, but it did calm things down considerably. Now I'm going to stay out of this discussion but will watch from the sidelines, lol.

My point is simply that the dynamics and the posters have changed within that time period. The people who were posting on these threads six months ago aren't the same people who were posting on them one year ago, aren't the same people who are posting on them now! Gen, you seem to know a lot about the dynamics from 6-12 months ago. Were you a long time lurker before you started posting? I never lurked just jumped right into the swing of things!

^^Many of them are the same people, not all. People come and go, but there is always the core group who post in them. It's a well-known fact that these threads bring out the worst in posters here, it's been discussed quite a bit and nothing changes. It's just the way it is There are undercurrents of things that happen, but even perfectly normal, sane posters have been known to lose it in the Brangelina threads, lol.

You are a new poster, (relatively speaking) I don't post a lot but have been reading a long time. The threads about AJ BP and JA have always been vicious. I find it funny someone thought I was a Brangelooney as I find her full of crap and a hypocrite. However the cake remark was silly. Just because she is suppossed to be starving it has never been said she would stop her kids from eating. I also know that it is all bullshit. She is anorexic, that's it.

I think the reason we get so upset is some of us wanted to pretend that two Hollywood people who some think are attractive (Jen & Brad) were actually in love and would live happily ever after. Silly but some of us love the "happily ever after shit". Along comes this gorgeous femme fatale with all this baggage and "steals" do you hear me "steals" Brad away from our sweet Jen. Well the anger and laughter will last for years.

Not very long. I think I started lurking around February or March maybe? I would come here on the blind vices threads to see what people were guessing for Ted Casablanca's stuff. I was a commentator on Defamer and I spent all of my gossip energy there. However, I made a snarky comment in a thread where people got bent out of shape - and yeessss I probably should have been like, sorry didn't mean it - but I was like, wtf?? Get over it. And then the next day they were 'cutting' commentators and they kicked me off, so I was like... okaaayyyy.

So I TRIED very hard to stop reading gossip sites, but clearly this addiction is more powerful than cigarettes and alcohol, because within a few weeks I was back, and I started checking around here more in the blinds and then latest gossip. And then I was like, hey, I can make snarky comments here and they won't cut me just because they get bored and want to kick people off! WHOA! So when I joined (in April I think?) I did indeed jump right in - but really only in the latest gossip and blind sections. I stayed in those threads for like two months so I'd see the occasional fight, like the time Kingcap and I were being naughty playwrights and people kept getting mad at us , but it didn't really seem to be anything serious.

THEN I discovered the other forums, and started exploring more, and got curious about all this banning and drama and whatever, and come on, I am ADDICTED to gossip, up to and including the meta-gossip of what's going on in the gossip board. So I read alllll these closed threads (thanks for keeping those readable, tee heee heeeee) and checked out the Bitter Jealous Fatties Board (sorry to anyone if you get accused of lurking there, that was me!) to try and figure out wtf was going on.

And like I told you in PM, Voodoo, right now I am at the point where I have a pretty good idea of the overall dynamics of the board. I know there are people who have been super friendly and awesome, and I clearly am very defensive of them. I also know there are people who have been subtly rude or snarky to me, or to Jennifer Aniston haters in general.

Well, I mean, you don't need a degree in rocket science to figure out that I'm arm-wrestling Grimmlok to be the Ultimate Jenn Haterrrr on the board, so I tend to take anti-Jen-basher comments a little too personally. As I also told you in PM, but would like to make sure everyone else knows, I made assumptions about you and thought you hated me when clearly you don't, and I apologize for that. I am trying very hard from now on to discover posters' real intentions without making assumptions about them. <cross fingers>

I realize I have overexplained this (and of course, because of that, it looks like I lie, so I OBVIOUSLY really am Wonderwoman's cousin's dead husband's dry cleaner), but I want you and everyone else to know where I stand so that if I do just flip my shit and start yelling at peeps randomly, this is why.

Also, they limit you on the number of words you can type in Private messages. I'm a writer. It FRUSTRATES me!!! So this is all the shit I wanted to write just now but had to edit out, .

I agree though -- let's stop making assumptions. And no, I'm not ass kissing Gen, but I think it's possible to be friendly with newcomers on this board without being part of a conspiracy. Sheesh. GR has always been edgy, but it was never this hostile to newcomers before. I want to see that fun, friendly spirit come back again and for it to include anyone who cares to join in. But I've always been a hopeless idealist. Still, I gotta keep trying...and yes, VC, ignore is a wonderful thing!
