I have never watched the show - just hear the stories about it. I was shocked to find out that they pre-interview the people and decide who will get in front of Simon and company. I assumed they took as many as possible who were in line. I didn't realize they turned some away and push some through just to let them humilate themselves for the ratings. To do it to people with obvious challenges crosses the line.
