Default Clooney leads in BAFTA nominations

latest from Ananova.com

Clooney Leads The Bafta Noms
It could be George Clooney's night at this year's Bafta awards.
He's got four nominations - best director and best original screenplay for Good Night, And Good Luck, and two in the best supporting actor category for his role in that film and also for Syriana.

So far as the tally goes, British film The Constant Gardener got the most nominations with ten, followed closely by Brokeback Mountain and Crash with nine each.

With six mentions came Good Night, And Good Luck, Memoirs Of A Geisha and Pride & Prejudice.

There's no mention of Keira Knightley for her role in Pride & Prejudice, but Judi Dench (Mrs Henderson Presents) and Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener) are flying the British flag in the best actress group, with Ralph Fiennes (The Constant Gardener) getting a best actor nod.

The awards ceremony takes place in London on 19 February, hosted by Stephen Fry.
