EXCLUSIVE: She swaps 32nd party for dinner do
Kiki King, Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley
HER last two birthday parties have been debauched and decadent affairs. But this year, Kate Moss is celebrating with a low-key dinner party.
The supermodel, who turns 32 on January 16, was planning a big 50s-themed bash.
It was to top last year's raucous Rock Circus do at her Cotswolds mansion - where guests wore 70s glam rock outfits and Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie sang live. And also where she began her illfated romance with junkie rocker Pete Doherty.
It would also outshine the wild Beautiful And The Damned party at Claridge's in London, which marked her 30th.
But now Kate has had second thoughts. She feared that people might bring drugs along. And since cleaning up her act - after the Mirror exposed her cocaine snorting shame last year - that is the last thing she wants.
So she has cancelled her party plans and arranged to celebrate her anniversary with an intimate dinner do.
"Kate is renting one of Steven Spielberg's places in LA and was to host a 50s-style party there," says our spy. "Everyone was so excited about it and several big showbiz names were expected to turn up.
"Invites had gone out telling guests what 'characters' they were to be - they'd ordered Marilyn Monroe costumes, wigs and everything.
"But when Kate realised some might turn up with drugs, she decided there was no way she could let it go ahead and risk more public humiliation.
"She was also rumoured to be having a lavish do at the Paris Ritz, but has changed her mind about that, too.
"Her priority now is getting her life back on track and looking after her three-year-old daughter, Lila Grace. She is the most important thing in Kate's life right now."
She lost several top contracts after the Cocaine Kate scandal broke, but is now rebuilding her career, landing lucrative work with Robert Cavalli, Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein and Bulgari.
Still, we doubt that Kate's party animal days are completely a thing of the past - if her impromptu pole-dance with Lindsay Lohan at a New York strip club on Wednesday is anything to go by...

Yeah, she did enough blow twirling around the pole with Lohan.

So Lila Grace is the most important thing in her life, eh? She sure has a funny way of showing it! I think Pete was first, then her blow, then maybe her daughter.

It's never good to plan and throw your own birthday party.
