Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe Split

After more than eight years of marriage Hilary Swank and her actor husband Chad Lowe are calling it quits.

Troy Nankin, Hilary Swank’s manager had this to say about the sad news, “Hilary and Chad have decided to separate, but they are hopeful they’ll be able to get through this tough time,”

Swank who is 31 and Lowe who turns 38 in a week, January 15th, were married September 28th 1997. They did not have any children together.

Hilary Swank is best known for her Academy Award winning performances in “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Million Dollar Baby”
Lowe has won an Emmy Award for his depiction of Jesse McKenna, an AIDS patient, in the TV series “Life Goes On”. He’s also the brother of another actor, Rob Lowe.

David Rose, Chad Lowe’s agent said there will be no comment from Chad.

I'm saddened by this. I was quite shocked to read this news today. They seemed to have it all together. I'm really starting to believe no one in Hollywood is destined to forever and always.

If there is one thing I'll say about him, it's that he always appeared to be very supportive of his wife's career. There didn't appear to be any jealously. That can't be said for a lot of other's out there.

I went to college in the town she grew up in (Bellingham). She was the first kiss for a guy I very briefly dated (when they were kids). She had only done Karate Kid at the point I knew him and he was shocked to see her. It's nothing earth shattering or revealing, but I always think of that when I see her...
