Howard Stern makes over 200 million with Sirius satellite radio stocks

Shock jock HOWARD STERN has added over $200 million (GBP111.1 million) to his fortune after attracting a wealth of subscribers to the Sirius satellite radio network ahead of his new show.

The controversial radio host kicks off a new era as a satellite DJ on Monday (09JAN06) and fans are flocking to pay the subscription rates to listen to his show, giving Sirius bosses a healthy end-of-year profit.

As a result, the delighted radio chiefs have transferred 34.4 million shares to Stern and his agent DON BUCHWALD, who masterminded the deal with Sirius.

Stern helped Sirius shares rise from three cents to $6.39 (GBP3.55) in the first stock check of 2006.

The 5 yr/$500 million thing is deceiving because that goes towards paying his employees and production costs. He probably gets like $35 mil a year out of that.

I hope this news gets around and people -- his fans -- realize
he's not just some overgrown teenager with a college radio show.
He's shrewd and calculating and in his 40s and he's as rich as
King Midas.

Well he made money off me and my entire family as we all got Sirius Satellite Radio's for Xmas and all signed up for the service. And I of course, listened to him promptly at 6 am this morning and LOVED every moment of it! As a huge fan also, I could care less how much he's paid. If you don't want to pay for radio, don't.

^^^You know what Frank, that's the only part I MISSED today!! I was soooo pissed because I had an appt!!! It was a lot like a regular show.....just a bit busier w/reporters and stuff. I forgot how much I missed him....and George Takei is sitting in w/him the entire week and is now the official announcer of the new Howard Stern show. I NEVER tire of his laugh! EVER!!!!
