I'm listening to "Shine on.." as we speak. They're definitiely my #1 band of all time.
I whole heartedly agree with this EXCEPT AC/DC, to me, should come before the Rolling Stones and AFTER The WHO.
AND U2 SHOULD NOT be on this list! WTF?

I hate Pink Floyd. They wouldn't even make the bottom of my top 100 list - blech.
My number one would be Led Zeppelin all the way. The Stones would be number two just because I have a lot of good memories with Rolling Stones music playing in the background ... the good old days.
I met a few people who didn't like Pink Floyd. Not the most mellow people out there. Maybe a bit high strung?

Count me among the high-strung because I cannot stand Pink Floyd. There is no way there are better than the Beatles, the Stones, or even the Who or Led Zeppelin.
Love love love love love Pink Floyd. In fact, just watched a fab documentary about them and Syd Barrett. I never got to see them live but saw the first show of the first post-Floyd tour Roger Waters ever did. It was fantastic. And they were in the Cd player last night as I played drunken dj at 2am. I've seen a bunch of the bands on this list and GnR were great live, Bon Jovi (whom I'm embarressed to admit I've seen live) were crap. U2 were ok but incredibly pretentious and that put me off them for life. AC/DC were exactly what you'd expect: loud, fun and with an audience composition of 99.9% suburban white guys and .1 percent girlfriends. I like the stones, Led Zep, etc. but they don't do it for me the same way as Floyd does.

Pink Floyd is a work of ART. the fact that BON JOVIE is on the same list with them is . . .well, im speechless. bon jovie is the most schmaltsy, lame ass band with overly sentimental lyrics and formulaic rock ballads. their songs are embarrassingly full of sap and i get a cringe when i hear them.
just googled david gilmour to remind myself of his looks. wow. i forgot how hot he was. nice full lips. The quintessential rock GOD. i think im horny now.

Can't stand Pink Floyd. I truly believe the Rolling Stones are the greatest band ever. To each his own, but Pink Floyd always seems too "artistic" -- whereas the Stones just lay out those great riffs and down-and-dirty lyrics.
Love Floyd, grew up listening to my dads vinyls. The difference between Floyd and the stones is that Floyd made concept albums that were cohesive and followed a story. I've never seen them live, but I've watched the DVD's of some of their performances and got blown away - if it were possible to do that to someone sitting in their living room I can only imagine what it would be like up close and personal.
I also Love Zeppelin, and prone to cranking it up every now and then. As for the Stones I'm one of thoes people who like some songs, but really dont like the others. I've always found them kind of boring actually.
I'm pretty mellow ... but maybe that's just because I'm getting older and I don't have the energy to be high strung.Originally Posted by darksithbunny

The Rolling Stones, in my opinion. are a pub band that just got lucky.
I think the fact that Mick Jagger comes across as a tight fisted, humourless, compulsive womaniser colours my opinion somewhat.
Bon Jovi!!!!! Please, they can't be serious.
