Scarlett Johansson credits her success to being a New Yorker

JOHANSSON CREDITS HER SUCCESS TO BEING A NEW YORKER



SCARLETT JOHANSSON believes she would never have become so successful in so short a space of time if she had grown up anywhere other than New York City.

The LOST IN TRANSLATION actress, who only recently turned 21, attributes her phenomenal career ascent to her home town.

She tells the New York Daily News, "I live and breathe New York. I am who I am partly because of the way I was raised, and partly because I was raised here.

"My parents told me and all my siblings that it was fine to express ourselves and whatever we were feeling and thinking, and that's a very New York mentality. There's a comfortable-in-your-own-skin quality that New York puts in you."

She's only just now 21???? Wow.

But, she does have some truth to her story, New Yorkers are very open to expressing their feelings, wouldn't necessarily say it makes you successfull....I think successfull people come here because it is so cut-throat.

Blah blah blah... If New Yorkers were happier than the rest of the world, if would somehow have gotten around. I am actually angry at her parents for encouraging her to express all of her vapid thoughts.
