BRAD RENFRO IN HEROIN BUST


American actor BRAD RENFRO has been arrested for attempting to buy heroin.

THE JACKET star, 23, was caught out by a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) sting operation when he tried to buy the illegal opiate from an undercover officer.

LAPD Detective RON HODGES says, "He was intending to buy real heroin from an undercover officer."

Fourteen other people were arrested in the random sting. Renfro was arrested in 1998 for possessing cocaine and cannabis, but made a plea deal which kept him out of prison.

oh no, this sounds so stupid but my heart sank a bit when i read that. i really like brad and he is a great actor and i just wish he would get out of all that trouble. it's kinds like robert downey jr (was).

I kinda remember him. He's not the same kid that stole the boat, though... I don't think. I can't remember that guy's name, but I think he was in different movies.

LOS ANGELES - Actor Brad Renfro was arrested in a sting operation after he allegedly tried to buy heroin near downtown's Skid Row, police said.

Renfro, 23, was booked for investigation of felony attempting to possess heroin, Detective Ron Hodges said.

"He was intending to buy real heroin from an undercover officer," Hodges said.

Renfro, the star of the 1994 film "The Client," was caught during a random sting operation Thursday that resulted in the arrests of 14 other suspects, Hodges said.

Renfro's lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment placed after business hours Thursday.

The actor was charged in 1998 with possession of cocaine and marijuana, but avoided jail time in a plea deal.He was sentenced to two years' probation in January 2001 on charges of trying to steal a yacht in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
He was arrested in May 2001 and charged with underage drinking. The next year, he was charged with driving without a license and public intoxication. Both violated terms of his probation. Renfro was ordered into an alcohol rehabilitation program in March 2002.
His movie credits include "Ghost World," "Bully" and "Apt Pupil."

Brad Renfro Charged With Trying To Steal A Yacht

Actor Brad Renfro was charged with grand theft after allegedly trying to steal a yacht the day before filming was to begin on his latest movie Bully (2001). Two people sleeping in a nearby boat were awoken by the sound of an engine at about 4 a.m. Monday. They saw Renfro, 18, and a friend trying to move the yacht away from the dock, police said. But they didn't untie the dock lines and the $175, 000 boat was yanked back into the dock, damaging its stern, authorities said. The two people called authorities and held Renfro and pal Harold Bond, 24, until police arrived. Renfro was released from jail the same night after posting $10, 000 bail. Renfro "seemed to be the most distraught about being arrested, " says the boat's manager, Paul Roydgouse.

Poor guy is in a world of hurt. Despite strong performances in a few notable movies, I've really only heard of him when he's arrested. Is this a yet another sad case of a child star gone wrong?
