12/16/05: PARKER HORRIFIED AT BECKHAM'S BABY FIGURE



SEX AND THE CITY star SARAH JESSICA PARKER was angry when VICTORIA BECKHAM emerged with a perfect figure just weeks after giving birth, because it portrayed an unattainable body image for new mothers.

The former SPICE GIRL sparked controversy when she appeared with a slender frame after each of her three sons - ROMEO, BROOKLYN and CRUZ - were delivered by caesarean section.

But the 40-year-old American actress - who gave birth to her son JAMES WILKE three years ago - insists mothers should ignore the singer's bad example and instead strive to maintain a healthy body weight after pregnancy.

Parker says, "There's all this emphasis on losing weight after you have a baby. Look at Posh Spice or whoever. But that life is not what's real.

"Luckily my doctor told me, 'You have to eat well and keep your weight on if you're going to nurse that baby. That's what's important. And if you have an issue with weight and you need to lose it, then we'll deal with that then.'"

I dont think SJP is a twig at all. If you see her in a bathing suit or underwear you can see that she is muscular and has an athlethic body but, with boobs and hips

I agree with what she's saying. When I have a kid I'll breastfeed too so going on hunger strike is not going to provide the nutrients my baby will need. However - yes, she's very thin herself so its sounds like a case of pot calling kettle black.

Seriously, I do know she was a Spice girl but why is she still on topic? What has she done since? Here in the States I never hear her mentioned. I'm surprised SJP knows anything about her figure.

Yeah she was a spice girl, famous for being the one that pouted loads, after Spice, her career has not gone so well, her singing career didn't work out, basically because sha cannot sing! She's famous for being married to David Beckham the footballer, more so since all the affairs he *supposedly* had came out.

She's now designing clothes, I think she's designing Rock and Republic jeans at the moment. The last I heard she was happy to move to LA or be in LA (not sure which) because she's more at home with very skinny women. (her words not mine to anyone in LA)

There was an interview with SJP in W magazine (I think) and she was kind of apologetic because of how she was able to get back in shape after having her son, she basically said it wasn't fair to compare her with other mothers because not everyone has the luxury of a personal trainer. It seemed like a sincere statement and personally I agree. My son is 2 and I still look like a kangaroo, I don't want to be compared to someone who's able to work with a trainer 2 hours a day or pay to have the excess skin removed before they even leave the hospital.

and regarding the rest of your post you are right, regular people like us do not have the luxury pampering of ready prepared calorie counted meals and regular gym visits.
