Julia Roberts the new face of Gianfranco Ferre

She's hardly strapped for cash, but now Julia Roberts will even more money to splash around this Christmas after landing an international modelling contract with Italian designer Gianfranco Ferre. Mario Testino will shoot the campaign in Los Angeles and the ads will run worldwide, with the notable exception of America. "I think the time for muses has come and gone," said Ferre, who has preferred to use anonymous models in the past for his ad campaigns. "My source of inspiration is modern-day reality, women who live in today's world. Yet there are some who better than others match my own purely personal ideal of femininity. In the now so multifaceted realm of glamour and allure, both as a woman and as a personality, Julia Roberts in my eyes reflects a total affinity with this ideal of mine."
