Teen-star Lindsay Lohan is over the moon with joy these days as she has been chosen by fashion giant Chanel to be their new face.

The "Mean Girls" star, who met with the label's designer Karl Langerfield this month, said that she was ecstatic over the thought of working with the designer.

"I'm so excited. I think it's for a magazine. I'm shooting with Karl Lagerfeld! It's amazing," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

The redhead actress will replace supermodel Kate Moss who was dropped after pictures of her snorting cocaine were splashed all over the tabloids.

Lindsay Lohan has replaced Kate Moss as the new face of Chanel.

The teenage actress has signed up with the fashion house to star in their new advertising campaign and has already met with famous fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld for a photo shoot.

The 19-year-old said: "I'm shooting with Karl Lagerfeld. It's amazing. I'm so excited. I think it's for a magazine."
Chanel dropped supermodel Moss earlier this year, after she was photographed snorting cocaine at a London recording studio with ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty.

In a bizarre twist, the 'Mean Girls' star and Kate have recently become pals and were spotted dining out together at a smart cafe in Beverley Hills earlier this month.

Lindsay admitted: "Kate Moss is my fashion icon.

"She looks great. She wears things that could take someone hours to put together."

I see Chanel as classy. I like Linds but I don't think she is the right image for them. But then again, I don't know who the hell would be anymore!
