Nancy Grace Gets Restraining Order

CNN host claims she's being stalked

Nancy Grace claims an obsessed fan has caused her severe emotional distress and she wants a judge to keep him far away from her.

According to court documents obtained by The Smoking Gun, Grace is seeking a restraining order against Joseph Raymond Loegering. Grace claims that Loegering, now confined to a psychiatric ward, has been stalking and threatening her via phone calls and e-mails, and is showing up at her workplace.

Grace's lawyer claims Loegering "...is apparently obsessed with Ms. Grace, believes that he loves her, insists that she can solve all of his problems and will help him to meet with Osama Bin Laden."

In the court papers filed in New York City, Grace claims that the defendant arrived at the Time Warner Center where Grace hosts her CNN show on December 2, 2005. She alleges that Loegering demanded to see her and that he wanted to "settle some court issues/problems" with her. He was denied access to the building and later approached by two New York City police officers. The officers concluded that Loegering was emotionally disturbed.

The court documents go on to say that Loegering was eventually taken to St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center, where he continues to be held in the psychiatric ward.

According to the documents, Loegering then called the CNN offices from the psych ward. He told a CNN security guard that he was being "held against (his) will" and that the officer should "bring Nancy Grace and Wolf Blitzer" to the hospital to help him. From there, according to the documents, the three of them would go see Osama bin Laden.

In addition to a restraining order, Grace is seeking punitive damages and attorney's fees.

Grace's publicist, Janine Iamunno, told TMZ, "We can confirm that a temporary restraining order was sought and was granted. We have no further comment on this matter."

I like Nancy Grace. She is no-nonsense and will call someone out in a heartbeat. Rabid, maybe. But she tells it like it is and is very informed and intelligent about that which she speaks.

I like her, too. I am semi addicted to court tv and she has always been one of my faves. She doesn't mind telling someone they are full of shit.
I think she is more sensitive to alot of things because of her past. I bet she was one hell of a prosecutor!

Opinionated, yes, but she often stepped out of bounds and got
disciplined by judges for inappropriate behaviour. I think the whole
point of going to trial is to prove someone is guilty by
constructing a logical argument based on the evidence -- not to just
say they're guilty or talk to the jury as if "everyone knows"
they're guilty. That's not presenting an argument; at its worst,
it can be construed as misconduct.

I still like her for being who she is without selling out to popular opinion. Did you guys know that she is still getting death threats from rabid Michael Jackson fans for daring to say he had all the hallmarks of a serial child molester. Now I don't agree with her opinion on the death penalty but after reading her book "Objection" I have to say that she has some good ideas for improving our judicial system. I wouldn't wanna piss her off.

She's really a horrible representative for the justice system. I understand she advocates for victims, as such her rants are perfect for that group. However, she's way too biased, certainly considering she has been a judge for a period of time as well. She always lets her personal judgement and experiences cloud her comments, which are requested by the media in her capacity as a PROFESSIONAL in the field of justice. Aside from that she has plain bad manners as she yells through all other panel participants responses like some fishwife each time she's on Larry King Live. Disgusting, ranting, rabid bitch.

I will admit I do catch her show at times, and I don't hate it.....
