Dita Von Teese, who has recently become Marilyn Manson’s wife after 5 years of dating, has slammed accusations she married the shock rocker to help further her career.

The former stripper confessed that her decision was entirely based on love.

"I get accused a lot of using him for my benefit. But the truth is I got a lot of hate mail when I first started to date him”, the burlesque dancer told New York Daily News.

"I actually had people who didn't want to be members of my website anymore because they felt he tarnished my pristine image or something. So it works both ways. There are things that I gained and things that I lost because of our relationship. But what it all comes down to is that I'm in love with Marilyn Manson, so there's no other choice in the matter. Well I heard he attached a belt to a door frame (somehow) and round his neck, and ended up strangling himself though he was just trying to get off.
