Dita Von Teese didn’t marry Marilyn Manson for publicity

Dita Von Teese, who has recently become Marilyn Manson’s wife after 5 years of dating, has slammed accusations she married the shock rocker to help further her career.

The former stripper confessed that her decision was entirely based on love.

"I get accused a lot of using him for my benefit. But the truth is I got a lot of hate mail when I first started to date him”, the burlesque dancer told New York Daily News.

"I actually had people who didn't want to be members of my website anymore because they felt he tarnished my pristine image or something. So it works both ways. There are things that I gained and things that I lost because of our relationship. But what it all comes down to is that I'm in love with Marilyn Manson, so there's no other choice in the matter. (…) Plus, if I were looking to date someone to further my career... I don't think I would have picked the anti-Christ", Dita added.

Meanwhile, the newlyweds are said to be enjoying an erotic honeymoon.

Not to denigrate strippers, but I don't think they've ever been known for their "pristine image".

Well I heard he attached a belt to a door frame (somehow) and round his neck, and ended up strangling himself though he was just trying to get off. There's the Tory MP who did it once and killed himself too, even though he had a lemon section in his mouth - it's meant to revive you if you go too far, the acidity and citrus is meant to kind of shock you in to waking up again. She's a STRIPPER. Pristine? Very funny. She would have no notoriety if it weren't for Manson. Perhaps she could crawl back into that strip club environment that she is accustomed to.

Why do celebrities feel the need to proclaim their sexual proclivities to the media? first Ricky "I love the golden showers" Martin, now this. Whenever I read these 'outrageous' claims, I just roll my eyes and think...publicity whore.
