CaCee defends Nick

A word to Jessica Simpson's personal assistant: Loose lips sink ships.
Lowdown hears that the twentysomething CaCee (pronounced "Casey") Cobb - who now finds herself the object of a quasi-custody battle between Jessica and her estranged husband, Nick Lachey - has been blabbing to friends about Simpson's alleged infidelities and voicing her sympathy for Nick's plight.

"CaCee can't get past the fact that Jessica cheated," reports a Lowdown spy close to the situation. "She feels badly for Nick and is very vocal about missing him. She saw Jessica abuse him all along. Ever since 'Dukes of Hazzard,' Jessica hasn't been good to Nick, and no one saw this more clearly then CaCee."

While it has been widely speculated in print that Simpson had affairs with her "Dukes" co-star Johnny Knoxville and "Jackass" alum Bam Margera, the Lowdown insider claimed that Jessica also had a fling with Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine.

Levine's rep denied it yesterday.

"CaCee knows her loyalty belongs to Jessica, but she still resents her for hurting Nick so much," said the spy.

Cobb apparently hasn't been silenced, even by such extravagant gifts from Simpson as the $40,000 BMW bestowed a few days before Simpson announced her separation from Lachey.

But yesterday Simpson's spinmeister Rob Shuter insisted that everything is peaches and cream.

"None of this is true," he E-mailed. "Saturday night was CaCee's birthday. We all had dinner and then went out to the Roosevelt Hotel [in L.A.]. Jess paid for everything. Jess also bought CaCee a vintage Rolex watch. Jess and CaCee love each other. CaCee is still friends with Nick."

Wasn't that guy from Maroon 5 boinking Paris Hilton too? I thought that he was with Shrapnova that 17 year old tennis player. He gets around too. He's kinda tiny, I wonder why these girls go for him

Maybe he's not tiny everywhere. All I can say is that the more I hear, the more sympathetic towards Nick I am. And I am guessing that the Joe Simpson PR wagon is going to be heavily worked. I think if he can't turn the tide towards Jessica's side, then he'll advise her to try to reconcile w/Nick.

Well I mean hell. CaCee is her personal assistant. She must surely get paid a lot, and I mean A LOT, in order to swallow down her own (ugh - Yuck) values to finger Jessica in front of other people.

I said this earlier, but is the bitch not Jessica's EMPLOYEE? Is she not afraid of being fired? Don't most people who work for celebrities sign confidentiality agreements? Why would you have to jump through hoops to pacify a damn employee? This is a lovely textbook illustration of why one should keep good, firm boundaries with one's employees. On Newlyweds, it really seemed like CaCa was after Nick.

I had a friend like her...she would tell me all the time to dump my bf..telling me how he was so bad for me, how she was only "cared" about me thats why she had to help me see how "hurting" me...she even planted fake evidence of cheating! I totally trusted her..then when I broke it off with him...she went after him!

So, Jessica layed out the bucks for CaCee's birthday. Let us all stand in awe of the generous Jessica Simpleton. If I were CaCee, I'd have the distinct feeling I was being bought and used and would tell Jessica and Papa Joe to shove it up their asses.

You know, I remember a quote from Jessica Simpson a while back that was something along the lines of 'She couldn't believe that she waited to have sex because she was missing out on so much. And that her body was made for sex.' Can't remember when I heard it though. Radio maybe?

Yep, that pretty much says what broke this marriage up if you ask me.
