Emma Watson worries about Potter replacement
5.12.2005.WATSON WORRIES ABOUT POSSIBILITY OF POTTER REPLACEMENT
HARRY POTTER star EMMA WATSON is dreading the possibility of another actress replacing her in the magical movie saga, because she has formed an emotional attachment to her character.
Watson has played HERMIONE GRANGER in all four Potter movies to date and will also appear in the next installment, HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX.
However, the 15-year-old accepts she may soon be too old to star as Granger in the final two Potter films, numbers six and seven in the franchise.
She says, "I know if anyone else were to play Hermione, I would not be able to deal with that. It would kill me. I'm hugely close to her."
And Watson admits she would only sign up to star in the forthcoming Potter sequels if she truly believed she could devote herself to the movies.
She explains, "An 11 month film is huge. You work adult hours. So I think I would never want to do it if I felt that I wasn't going to give it 100 per cent.
"So I'm not really thinking about the future. I just take it one film at a time, because otherwise I get a little bit overwhelmed."

They are gonna replace them??? Why in the hell would they do that? Just won't be the same if they do.

Re: Emma Watson worries about Potter replacement
She's worried because no one else is offering her a job anywhere else. If Steven Speilberg asks her to star in a big blockbuster it'll be adios Harry Potter

Re: Emma Watson worries about Potter replacement
Actually all of the actors have said at one time or another that their age would eventually get in the way of them doing all of the movies. By the time the last one comes out (most people think late 2007, meaning a movie would come in 2008-2006 by the earliest), they'd all be into their 20s. I for one am willing to make the stretch because the three of them are great. But apparently the powers that be have thought about their replacements too.

Re: Emma Watson worries about Potter replacement
^^^ too much for what? for the actors to do or for the viewers?
i know i wanna see all the books made into movies! and i can't imagine how weird it would be if other actors would play the familar roles but the filmmakers do have to hurry neither harry nor ron nor draco looked like 14 in the last movie.

Re: Emma Watson worries about Potter replacement
i just can't see them hiring other actors. heck the people on 90210 were in their late 20's when they were supposed to be teenagers.
i just don't think the movies would be successful if the actors were different, and i'm sure the producers know that.

I'd rather keep the current actors, even if they look a bit old, than try to adjust to different people playing those characters.

Re: Emma Watson worries about Potter replacement
15 now? she'll be able to pull off a 15/16 year old in 2007 when she is 17/18. that is not much a stretch. why the worry over this now? I think they will all be able to pull it off.

Re: Emma Watson worries about Potter replacement
I hate, hate, hate Emma Watson. And she's a walking fashion disaster to boot. That said, I see no reason for them to replace the kids and I hope they don't because it would ruin the continuity of the movies. I'll just deal with spending the next 3 movies glaring daggers at her character. The trio has great chemistry as is.

Re: Emma Watson worries about Potter replacement
this is silly... the girl may be WORRIED, which it doesnt sound liek shes actually worried, its just an expression (were that to happen...), but it doesnt mean theyre BEING replaced! I highly, highly doubt that will happen. The people are becoming attached to the actors as well as the characters, and they would rather see the same actors in the parts, just a little older, than new characters. I mean the casting is very good, in my opinion.
As for Emma Watson being worried about not getting another job.. That is just silly. The girl is already being swamped with scripts for projects, and she is ONLY 15. So I doubt shes worried about that!
