KATE Moss last night begged Pete Doherty to leave her alone as she confessed: "I wish I'd never met him."

The fed-up model has cut all ties with the junkie rock star and admitted their relationship nearly ruined her life.

Kate, 31 - who was dumped by a string of labels after the Mirror exposed her cocaine abuse - was bracing herself for another scandal as Doherty prepares to lift the lid on their drug-fuelled sex life.

The tearful catwalk star told a friend: "He's a user in every sense of the word. He makes me sick.

"Yes, I loved him, but I was taken in by his little boy lost routine. He has nearly cost me everything.

"Now he's just out to exploit our time together. It's clear he doesn't care about me and has no respect for our relationship."

Kate was horrified when she heard Babyshambles frontman Doherty, 26, is gearing up to betray her in a six-figure deal.


The singer - who once gushed that she was the "love of his life" - is understood to be touting around secret details of their time together to the highest bidder.


And he is also thought to be considering a publishing offer to co-operate on a book about their doomed romance. Furious Kate dumped Doherty on Wednesday in an angry phone call after she discovered he had been arrested on suspicion of possessing crack cocaine in London - just days after walking out of his US rehab clinic.


She screamed: "It's over, Pete. Get out of my life. I never want to see you again."


A source close to Kate said last night: "The bottom line is that he loved drugs more than he did her."


One worried friend added: "We are all very concerned that Pete will embellish details of their life together in revenge for Kate's refusal to take him back. He is a loose cannon.


"She should have been able to rely on him for support but he has let her down very badly.


"She has been totally supportive and had vowed to stick by Pete if he stayed in rehab.


"But he walked out, proving just how little he values their relationship. She is hurt and very, very angry."


Friends had repeatedly warned Kate, who has a three-year-old daughter Lila Grace, about staying with the troubled rocker.


But she seemed incapable of ending the relationship, until now.


Three months ago the Mirror told how Kate snorted cocaine at a London recording studio while she was with Doherty. She was dropped by fashion houses including H&M, Burberry and Chanel.


But the Croydon-born model got her life back on track after going into rehab for 30 days in Arizona with the support of her parents Linda and Peter. She also issued an apology over her drug shame.


Since leaving the clinic a month ago, Kate has travelled to Spain, the Caribbean and South Africa on modelling assignments.


She is also in talks with close friend Stella McCartney to sign a lucrative contract to front her autumn/winter 2006 campaign.


And she is understood to be considering a £1million offer from Bulgari and a £1.5million deal with Calvin Klein.


On top of that, Kate has signed a £1.2million deal with phone company Virgin Mobile and has worked with Italian designer Roberto Cavalli.


After an amazing career rebirth, experts believe she will triple her estimated £4million-a-year wages in the wake of the scandal.


But while she gets back on the straight and narrow, Doherty has been sticking the knife in.


Kate was horrified by recent comments he made about her stint in rehab.


He said: "With the amount of coke Kate was taking, it's amazing she completed the course.


"I don't know how she stuck through five weeks, because I thought my head was going to explode.


"Everyone believes she went in to beat her cocaine addiction. That's wrong. She did it to save her career. She's terrified of her will-power failing. She's terrified of being caught again."


His parents Jacqueline and Peter are said to be "incandescent" at their son for speaking out - and quitting rehab after just one week.


One insider said: "They are absolutely steaming. They wish he would shut up and sort his life out."


Kate is expected to spend Christmas at her Cotswold home. She is also considering a permanent move to America.
