Ben Affleck and Jennnifer Garner have deal with Starbucks?
Quote:
Are Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner making big bucks courtesy of a giant coffee concern?
A Lowdown spy reports that the caffeinated couple has snagged an exclusive "seven-figure" contract with Starbucks Coffee Co. to drink, be photographed with and generally promote the popular java around the country.
"It's a relatively new deal," says the insider. "And considering how often they are photographed with the stuff, I'd say they're working pretty hard."
Bennifer II - who married in June and are expecting a baby girl any day - are rarely seen in public without their trademark oversize cups emblazoned with the ubiquitous Starbucks logo. And with his career in the dregs and hers on hold, a hefty endorsement deal could be just their cup.
Garner's publicist didn't respond to detailed messages, but reps for Affleck and Starbucks insisted that Lowdown's account was all steam and no bean.
"No contract with Starbucks," Affleck's flack Ken Sunshine E-mailed. "Maybe Ben likes Starbucks and is willing to ignore the morons who spend their life waiting to take the same photo every day of him drinking coffee."
Sunshine, who also reps various labor unions, couldn't resist adding: "Of course, I'm more than upset at Starbuck's policies toward their workers joining unions" - the company discourages union activity - "so I might advise him to reconsider his routine."
A spokeswoman for Starbucks told Lowdown: "We would never be in the business of establishing contracts with celebrities to use our product. We work with producers and filmmakers and TV studios, but we don't pay for play, so to speak. We appreciate Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's loyalty, but our product placement is organic."

I have to say that if this is true, there are quite a few celebs with a similar deal. the Olsson Twins for one/two.

Perhaps Starbucks adds some sort of 'special' ingredient to all those celebrity drinks. I mean, I like coffee from there as much as the next gal but no one I know spends their entire day with a Starbucks cup in their hands....

I can understand being fed up with being followed around and snapped by paps in your downtime, but *those morons* are part of why he's such a huge star who can command the fees that he does. Perhaps it'd behoove him to have more diplomatic reps. No need to be a condesending asshole over a legitimate question.

The new cigar, hehehe...Remember not too long ago cigars were in vogue and every celebrity and their brother could be spotted puffing on a big old stogie.

My mom would..if she had the money to go there every day. She had her first taste of Starbucks way back in 1994, in Seattle no less and has been hooked ever since. She refuses to drink anything else unless she absolutely has to have coffee and Starbucks isn't available. She usually gets in a few disgusted looks after a few sips and complains and states that Starbucks is the best. She should be a spokesperson! lol But she told me the other day that she read somewhere that the reason why Starbucks coffee is so good is because of 2 things. The way they grow their beans and they have special water they use..not just tap water. I don't know the quoted source though on where she got that info.
I on the other hand HATE coffee with a passion and now boycott Starbucks. When we went to Seattle in 94, I of course didn't get coffee not because I hate it, well yea, but also because I was 11. But I did get a vanilla hot chocolate..it was THE best hot chocolate I've ever had. They don't make it that way anymore. Yea I know they can make vanilla hot chocolate, but it isn't like the one I had back in the day. But the main reason why I boycott Starbucks is because they discontinued my favorite FAVORITE drink there..the Tazoberry and Cream. I even wrote them a letter asking them to bring it back or to ask why they discontinued it and I never got ANYTHING back. Not even a pre-made letter. I was very disappointed.
