oookay. there has to be more to this story. maybe they didnt want Kfed so she turned the offer down. cause to me it seemed like she really wanted the part.
It looks like BRITNEY SPEARS isn't so 'Sweet.' I hear the 23-year-old new momma pop princess has turned down a very lucrative offer to star in the Broadway revival of Sweet Charity. As I exclusively reported, Spears was in talks to replace CHRISTINA APPLEGATE as the unlucky-in-love Charity. She was also looking to get hubby KEVIN FEDERLINE a job in the show as a dancer. "Britney said she couldn't do it because of 'family issues,'" a source tells me. I'm told producers spent tens of thousands of dollars on wooing her. She apparently racked up quite a bill on private jets and hotel suites. "The producers didn't mind," my source says. "They thought they'd make that money back right away once she said yes." A source close to Spears tells me that she decided against a Broadway run "because she didn't want to uproot her family to New York and make such a long commitment. Of course, she seriously considered it, but she's a new mom and Kevin has two other kids who are also on the West Coast."

Or maybe they didn't offer her the role so she had one of her friends, or "sources" tell people that she turned it down.
Or maybe they didnt include cheetos in her contract.
Im ashamed to say what I did for a klondike bar...
Brit is headed to looneyville. If this is true, I think it's a good thing she didn't take the part. She seems like she needs to get her mental health back on track
Good for her if this is true. Lil Preston comma Sean is way too young for a grueling Broadway schedule!
I don't think it is true. She is NOT talented enough for Broadway. Please. The Oscars, Grammys and everything else has been ruined by NO TALENT people....Broadway and the Tonys CAN'T be next. STOP THE INSANITY!

^ No kidding. Britney Spears can't sing her way out of a paperbag.
Rock the fuck on!
Maybe Britney had no intention of taking the role in the first place but she figured it would be a good way to get some free flights and hotel rooms while she was in New York shopping. Leave her more dough to blow, so she let them believe she really might be interested in starring in the show all the while having no intention to do it. She's so lazy.
She would actually have to sing live without backup singers helping her out - that is probably why she turned it down!
She is so not talented enough for a Broadway stage. Has she ever actually sung live after her stint on Starsearch?

Britney has been on a Broadway stage before. I think it was a play, but she was on one. I don't remember the name of the show she was like 10 years old.
Broadway has no talent people on it. It's all about being at the right place at the right time. They also will take famous people because ticket sales aren't that great. No talent people (Rosie Odonnell) are on Broadway. believe me.
I think Rosie O'Donnell backed a Broadway who, called Tatoo. It flopped but she wasn't actually in it. And I think going live when you're ten is quite different than going live as an adult. And yes, yes, of course there are untalented people on Broadway...but they don't get handed a starring role in an established show...usually they're in the chorus or a walk on role as 'gorgeous girl/boy "1'.Britney has been on a Broadway stage before. Hate to disagree with you Buttmunch but recently Rosie was on Broadway in the role of Golda, Teyva's wife in a new version of "Fiddler on the Roof" The reviews posted in the New York Times and the Washington Post really ripped into her for her lack of singing abilities, lack of acting skills, clumsy handling of the lines but mostly for playing a Russian Jewish peasant with an Irish brogue. I know, can you imagine? I'm thinking this has to be the worst production of "Fiddler" since the one in high school where all the male roles were taken by the most feminine of gay guys.
