Nick Lachey, whose split from Jessica Simpson was announced last week, is about go back to work – as another newlywed.
The actor-singer is working on a new sitcom for the WB network in which he'd play a baseball star involved in a new marriage, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
There's no title yet for the show, which comes from Danny Jacobson, the co-creator and executive producer of NBC's relationship comedy Mad About You. Jacobson tells the trade paper that the show will be "a romantic comedy under the microscope."
Lachey previously did several guest spots on the WB show Charmed.
The career news comes despite a tough holiday weekend for Lachey, 32, and Simpson, 25, who announced their separation in a statement just before Thanksgiving.
"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," the statement read. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

^^ I know, me too! I won't be watching this new sitcom though, sounds even cheesier than the real newlyweds! Although I must confess I did watch that from time to time, only because Jessica's dimness made me laugh so much!

I'd watch it just to give it ratings, help him out and let his dizzy soon-to-be-ex-wife that people can get along just fine without pappa Joe.

I'd like to be the judge of how much talent he has.

He has the look of a soap star. Just something about him. He ought to give daytime tv a shot, once this sitcom sinks.

I think he might do great when he is no longer under the shadow of Miss Jessica.
