Default 'Twin Peaks' sequel may be in the works

Quote:
Cult movie and TV series TWIN PEAKS is set for a triumphant return with KYLE MacLACHLAN planning a comeback as AGENT DALE COOPER.
Twin Peaks co-creator MARK FROST reveals he has been in talks with the Canadian actor in the hope of making a follow-up to quirky films TWIN PEAKS and TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME.

He tells Moviehole.net, "We've talked a little and it's (the project) a possibility down the road.

"I think it would be hard to re-create the world of Twin Peaks at this point, but Kyle is still there and still a terrific actor, and that's a character we could possibly take other places."

British production company Phoenixmedia is believed to have sparked the planned Twin Peaks reunion - the firm has been working a new Twin Peaks prequel, called WITH A THOUSAND ANGELS, but failed to get permission from co-creator and director DAVID LYNCH to go ahead with the movie.
It is not known if Phoenixmedia or Lynch will be involved with Frost's new project.

I'm only interested if David Lynch is also involved.

I really enjoyed the first season of Twin Peaks, but lost interest about halfway through the second season. I'd be on board for a new Kyle MacLachlan project, but I agree that David Lynch should be involved.

same here.
it's not twin peaks without him, just a crappy prequel/sequel/remake so the out-of-work actors can make some cash

^^ We all seem to be in agreement. When you go back and watch
the shows a second time, the best episodes were done by Lynch
and Tim (The River's Edge) Hunter. The worst were by the likes of
Diane Keaton (yes, I'm pretty sure) and the series editor.

I love Twin Peaks, but just like all of y'all, if David Lynch isn't interested in doing it, I'm not interested in watching. When it was good, it was brilliant, but when Lynch stepped away - it really went off the rails. The show, when it was good - really teetered between comedy, horror and absurdity - and only a deft hand like Lynch's can handle it. Weird for the sake of weird doesn't work.

I loved Twin Peaks, but *ahem* this is a 2 1/2 year old thread. There's been no movement on this project in the intervening years . . .

Oh, I was a huge Twin Peaks fan..... used to be the highlight of my week. Not much time for T.V. these days, but I might consider watching a new series if Dave Lynch and at least most of the original characters were involved.

Doesn't look like it's going to happen though.....

I loved TP too. I watched it every week and some of it I didn't understand since I was young.

I watched the first movie that came out, I can barely remember it since it's been so long.

I find it very unlikely that David Lynch would ever re do Twin Peaks, especially after the network pretty much axed the show. Also David L killed a few of the characters.

Good point!

I loved the show too...the 2nd season, not so much but I'll never forget the ending with Agent Cooper/Bob. "How's Annie?" Creepy as hell!!

On another note, the guy who played Bob died several years ago. I couldn't see them doing any sequel without him.

'How's Annie?' is one of the creepiest scenes I have ever seen.

It would be nothing without Lynch involved.
