Yeah - Dr Asnet Khan didn't want to be a part of the media circus she enjoyed courting and his conservative family in Pakistan didn't approve of their son marrying 'out'.

If you want a really good read about Diana then get Tina Brown's "The Diana Chronicles" which I think gives pretty much the definitive story of what happened and why. It gives some fascinating insights into Diana's 'demons' (basically it was abandonment issues stemming from her parents' messy divorce). Diana and Dodi were NOT about to get married - it was a summer fling for her and he was just following his father's orders.

A car crash is not the safest way to kill someone, though - there is always a chance of survival. I would think that if they really wanted to kill her, they would have used a more sure-fire approach (while still making it look like an accident).

i remember the pregnancy rumors were because she tested positive for hcg. but she apparently had ovarian cysts which could create a false positive.
