Cruise: 'Holmes Must Be Quiet, Not Silent'

Tom Cruise has rubbished claims his pregnant fiancee must give birth to their child in silence in accordance with their religion Scientology - she must only remain "quiet".

The Church Of Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard ruled followers must, "Maintain silence in the presence of birth to save both the sanity of the mother and the child and safeguard the home to which they will go."

But Cruise has attempted to appease outraged critics, by insisting the rules are flexible.

He tells talk show host Barbara Walters on her The 10 Most Fascinating People Of 2005 show - which airs next week, "Like anything, you want to be as quiet as possible. There have been misinterpretations that the woman can't make any noise, and that's just not true. It's nutty.

"No, but just calm and quiet. I want Katie to be as comfortable as possible. And whatever she's gonna go through, she's gonna go through. And I'm gonna be there."

Does that idiot have any idea what childbirth entails? Quietness and calm are not part of childbirth. Messy, noisy, frantic, bloody, shitty, screaming, all those fun things are what makes childbirth memorable.

WTF?! I've had 2 kids myself and as I recall, it was screaming my ass off that saved my sanity, and I don't think the baby's sanity was affected at all, SEEING AS HOW SHE WAS STILL INSIDE MY BODY, and likely paying little or no attention since her skull was being squeezed into the shape of a pencil at the time. And what's this "safeguard the house" bullshit? WTF does that mean?
And then Tom says, "It's nutty." Well, I guess you know from nutty, fuckbag. I'm sick and tired of hearing about these two, yet I want to because I gotta see how loony they go!

What I seriously don't get, well, I get it but ah, fu** it, is why the hell does anyone on the planet or in the entire solar system for that matter have to hear about Scientology AT ALL? Why is Tom even mentioning Scientology now? He was quiet for a long time...and then this year it's like BAM a Tom Cruise Scientology explosion. Has L. Ron possessed Tom's body? Who does Cruise think he is? And who the hell is buying into any of this? Seriously?? Why aren't all the other Scientologists as nuts as he is or are they? Where are the Scientologists among us? I don't know any, do you guys? There has got to be something else going on with this guy. I mean, I KNOW why he's talking about Scientology, I just wonder what the deeper meaning to all his nonsense is. And I know bad press is better than no press but come on! Why is the Scientology part of his life so important to him now that he absolutely can't stop talking about it? Seriously, what's going on? I've got my theories but I always type way too much to begin with so I'm shutting up now.
